Andris out indefinitely with appendicitis; MP still a Warrior

Some bad news from practice today:
As the trade deadline passed at noon, the biggest story for the Warriors wasn't that Mickael Pietrus was still at practice.
It's that Andris Biedrins was not.
The Warriors' starting center is out indefinitely with appendicitis that began flaring up last night. Biedrins is scheduled to have his appendix removed today and will likely out for at least several weeks as he recovers from surgery.
Warriors coach Don Nelson said Biedrins wasn't feeling well during Wednesday's win over the Celtics, though Biedrins still toughed out one of his best games of the season with 21 points and 13 rebounds. He got progressively worse overnight before the Warriors' sent him to the doctor Thursday morning.
"
We had so much flu going on that we didn't know it wasn’t just the flu," Nelson said. "But as he got home, it looked more and more like it could be something serious."
"He had such a tremendous, game, you never expected it, but that's the type of guy he is," Baron Davis added. "You just wish him a speedy recovery."
Biedrins' absence will mark the first time since Stephen Jackson's opening seven-game suspension that the Warriors will have to make do without a key player for an extended period.
It also comes at the Warriors' thinnest position, with the 6-11 Latvian serving as their only true center. Nelson said Chris Webber and Austin Croshere will play more minutes at the 5, while his younger players like Patrick O'Bryant and Brandan Wright could also see more time.

This is the same situation as Grant Hill's.
I think they'll be fine, he'll probably be out 3 weeks
And if you've seen their schedule (doubt it) - It's beyond easy..they have 2 tough games in the next 3 weeks (Orlando, PHX <-which is exactly 3 weeks from now, basically)

The impressive side of this story is the fact that he had 21/13 or something like that against KG last night...
Let's hope Don Nelson uses Wright and O'Bryant and doesn't rely toooo heavily on Croshere and Webber. Even Kosta could become an option, he had an above avarage game when he played against the Bucks.
Anyway, the upcoming part of the schedule is really easy. Unfortunatly, the Ws have the bad habit of coasting through these games and loose them (Minny, Bulls for example). Let's hope playing guys like Croshere, Wright and POB will force them to focus during this easy part of the schedule.

Pacific and SW divisions keep getting tougher so it's looking like a rough road for the W's. Good luck Golden state fans.

wow dunno what to say actually. last year I wouldn't have cared about it but for a few weeks now I kinda like the Ws...

is a tough dude though. Battled with KG and had a helluva game too. Supposedly he was hurtin before the game but just thought it was the flu bug or something. Get well Dre.
Like others have mentioned though, the Dubs have their last "easy stretch" for the next two and a half weeks, but then after that the schedule gets insanely tougher. Hopefully he'll be at full strength just in time for the stretch run.

Yeah Biedrins had a 23/13 game against Kevin Garnett with a f*cked up appendex. The 21 year old is a beast.
This is a blessing in diguise though. Get ready for Brandan Wright and Patrick O'Bryant. Nellie will realize that Andris Biedrins isn't the only athletic big man that he has on the team. Once Biedrins gets back on the floor, Nellie will now have more depth at the Center position knowing that he has other centers capable of ballin.
But yeah, our playoff hopes suck. Why did the West have to get so tough this season? 13 games above .500 and still at the bottom 8th seed. haha. whatever, i don't really care anymore. whatever happens, happens.

Anyways, ignoring the hater above me....
Grant Hill had this same surgery and missed only 11 days, Biedrins should be back in no time since he's hella younger and able to come back ASAP. In the meantime this is the PERFECT oppurtunity for Batman and Patrick O'Bryant to show Don Nelson how stupid he was for not playing the 2.

why does this matter?
Denver isn't making the playoffs, and if they do, then Dallas won't. I don't see anyway the Warriors don't make it.
If they have to go drastic they could just buy someone out and sign PJ Brown.

Anyways, yes GS is gonna be hurting with Andris out for a couple of weeks, no one's a lock in the Western playoffs yet.

Golden State can go .500 basketball for the rest of the year and miss the playoffs... think about that. The 8th seed right now has a ungodly .623 win percentage. Good enough to be the 3rd seed in the east.
