Are the Cavs a better team now? I think they made a great trade. West and Wally are gonna be huge for the Cavs. These guys are both great shooters, and West is a huge upgrade at the guard for them. Wally should have a field day playing all the open looks he's gonna knock down playing alongside Bron. Ben Wallace may even become motivated again and play like he did with Detroit.

No not at all. I think they traded just to make a trade due to Lebron's unhappiness. Wally is a streaky shooter, delonte is a bum, and an aging Ben Wallace just crippled your cap. The Cavs would of been better to just stay pat.

well I think this trade is quite good talentwise. big ben replaced goodens rebounding and D since I think he would play power forward for them. if wally finds his shot, what I assume he'll do, he can score 15+ ppg with all the open looks created by lebron.

dunno anything about west though

other than the contract issue, i thought it was a win all around for the cavs. depth at every position, dead eye shooter in wally, young pg with great potential, defensive minded center and a well rounded pf. not bad at all.

why do people hate on joe smith? he was like the best player for bulls when deng/gordon were out

How does Wallace cripple their cap? Hughes's deal is almsot the same thing.

Plus, with AV and Wallace on the floor with Lebron at the 3, that is by far the best defensive front court in the league.

I mean they may of gotten a little better now, I'm not sure what I think, it really has not sunk in, but they really locked themselves up contractually, they are going to have to stick with this team for a while, and if they do not win, say bye-bye to King James.

Gooden and Hughes were negatives and any production they had made up for what they GAVE up...

Simmons and Brown did nothing...

Wallace was put in a terrible position in Chicago, having a motivated Big Ben is nice...

Cavs needed a consistent, shooter and scorer, enter Wally..

Smith is an underrated part of this deal who gives us something we lacked off the bench: low post scoring...

West will be a nice piece as he fits in with LeBron well...

I don't see what argument anybody has to say it doesn't make us better...

best defensive front court by far? ever heard ot detriot? ever heard of the spurs? or have you seeen the lakers on paper (bynum+gasol+odom)?

Sure they're better. Wally can still light it up and plays with energy and passion, even if he has other limitations.

Wallace is way overpaid but can still play a big role on just about any NBA team.

And both ought to be good for team chemistry, at least in terms of wanting to win.

West won't amount to much, especially in the playoffs, but ok he can't hurt. He can play some D and slash.

Agree with every point.

Considering the contracts CLE had on the books yesterday, this is an amazing deal for them.

And all contracts expire before LBJ, so this deal has no effect onthe ability to resign him.

Wallace is old and done. Gooden was an important part of their team and he killed the wiz whenever we played them. For a team that struggles to score I don't know if they got that much better.

I really like that they got west in the deal though, and ultimately it comes down to how Wallace plays. If he plays well then they have improved if not then I see it as a wash.

Great trade although taking Big Ben makes it not that great on paper (contract wise)

To say that Gooden was an important part of our team shows how much you've watched the Cavaliers because everybody in the Cavalier organization along with the fans is laughing at you right now...

Does it really matter though? Is this enough to put them over Det and Boston? No

This possibly makes them better then ORL but thats not even a guarentee.

Did you sleep through last year's Eastern Conference Finals? They already toppled the playoff dud Pistons. Now that they've improved their talent pool dramatically, I could see them sweeping Detroit.
