Most games against one team in a season?

Post#1 » by Cevap » Fri Feb 22, 2008 3:59 am

What player has played the most games against a particular team in a season. Seeing as how the Cavs and Chicago still haven't played against each other they will have to cram the four games in the last couple months. Seattle did play the Bulls for the two scheduled games so Szczerbiak will potentially play the Bulls six times this season.

Preseason don't count, playoffs do.

Any time two teams in the same conference/division play a full seven-game series, that's eleven right there. I'd say it's the benchmark for starters then see who's played more than that.

yeah i agree with that but the maximum possible amount would be those eleven games, plus 4 if the previous team was in the same division as those two.

Say two players are both in the Eastern Conference and they play all 4 regular season games against each other before the trade deadline. Then at the trade deadline they are both moved to two separate Western Conference teams. Those western conference teams happen to play all 4 of their regular season games after the trade deadline. Then, the two players meet in a 7-game playoff series.

So, the theoretical maximum is 15 games.

if one of them's traded twice it could be more

player a starts with miami, plays a back to back against player b on charlotte in the first week.

player a is traded to boston, plays 4 times against player b in charlotte

at the deadline player a is traded again to toronto. player b goes to cleveland. they play each other 4 times and then meet in the playoffs
