Real MVP of the Lakers; Pau Gasol?
If the Lakers finish with the best regular season record, Kobe will win. That's just how things are. But shouldn't Gasol receive most of the credit for the Lakers success? Odom has been playing extremely well. With Gasol on the team, it allows Kobe to be unselfish on offense, and to play better defense, since he isn't focusing most of his energy on offense. Plus he has been able to fill in for Bynum and he hasn't missed a beat with the new offense.

well I guess Kobe will still be the player to give the ball to in crunch time and he is still the better defender, scorer and passer. only because Kobe's numbers decrease it doesn't mean at all that his presence decreases.
Dirk has won the MVP last year because he was the best player on the best team but his numbers weren't that great IIRC and Josh Howard wasn't that far off from Dirk

No, Gasol isn't the real MVP of the Lakers.
I have to hand it to you though, you are taking a page out of B-Scott's book. I think you might of read that thread by B-Scott a month or so ago saying the same **** about Bynum being the "real MVP" of the Lakers.
Kobe leads the team in assists, points, steals and shots per game= biggest contributor=MVP of the Lakers.
Gasol, Odom, Bynum, Fisher and Farmar are major contributors in the success.
Enough said.

Will the Lakers be better with Kobe or Gasol?
Kobe
Were the Lakers better with Bynum or Gasol?
?
What does it means?
It means that the Lakers were even better with Bynum than with Gasol both offensive wise and defensive wise(according to stats). Does that mean Bynum is the real MVP of the Lakers?
See where the logic of the OP fails? How can you have 3 "real" MVPs on the same team?

You take Gasol out of the lakers thy become lakers before Gasol (a low playoff seed)
Exactly.
Players fit into teams for a reason. Gasol was never a legit #1 option. He couldn't carry a team. He's not an MVP candidate. Not even close.
Kobe is the real MVP of the Lakers... by far. It amazes me how people try to take everything away from Kobe.

no he hasnt. Lamar is playing better because he is no longer relied upon to be the teams second best player. With Gasol, Lamar can do things he's good at instead of trying to be a force on the offensive end.

First Odom was the "real" MVP of the Lakers then misses some games and the Lakers don't miss a beat. Then it was Fisher because his numbers were up with all the wide open looks. Next we had Bynum but he's missed like 30 games and Gasol has been arguably more productive so now it's Gasol? There's been one constant on the Lakers, people..
Oh ans this is getting pathetic..
