well, considering that right now, there are only 3 players averaging double digits in assists and 13 players averaging double digits in rebounds, id think the answer is pretty obvious.

there should be a third option
because a double double with rebounds and assists is much more impressive than either of those options.

Offensive rebounds usually lead to points so... clearly its points and assists. you have to score yourself and set up somebody else.

They are both impressive in their own right but assists and rebounds are harder to get though.
