Do you believe that a player staying with one team his entire career adds to his legacy?

absolutely. Especially if they were their through the building process and grew as a player as the team got better.
IMO nothing in sports would be better than taking a team from the ground to the top and being there through it all.

Yes.
Magic, Bird, MJ are the 3 most herald basketball players and they all stayed on one team and gave the team championships. Their names will forever be linked to their franchises.

Meh, look at Wilt, Jordan, Kareem, Oscar Robertson, Pete Maravich, Shaq, Malone, Barkley, etc...

yes. definitely. would reggie miller have anywhere near the same legacy if he signed with another team? notice how we treat karl malone and john stockton differently?

I think it also hurts Shaq's legacy that he has now been tossed around to pho. I guess the only thing that will help him is if he can help get a chip in pho.

None of those besides Shaq come close to the legacy of Bird, Magic, MJ.
Staying with one team, especially a big market team really helps the legacy.
When you hear the Lakers, you think of Magic. When you hear the Bulls, you think of MJ. When you hear the Celtics, the white man comes up.
If a player played for multiple franchises, it is hard to pick a franchise whom he belongs to.

Its too bad Jordan didnt stay with the bulls his entire career. Although Jordans impact is so big it really doesnt matter....I think he is a special case.

No because Magic was/is the face of the franchise because LA drafted him, signed him, and won with him as is MJ and Bird.
Perhaps Wilt is too far back and only a hand full have people have actually seen him play. Kareem is one of the greats but his legacy is a step behind the 3.
Shaq's legacy remains to be seen.

A good thing or a bad thing? Stockton was all his career with the Jazz, and Malone practically too with the exclusion of an injury riddled year with the Lakers, which most will forget in another 10 years anyways.

Shaq's been done. His Heat title is more Wade's and the refs.

Not 100% true. I think of a long list of players, including Magic, Kareem, Wilt, West, Kobe, Shaq, Baylor, Mikan. As for the Celtics, they are way more Russell's than Bird's.

Players like Clyde , Barkley , Pippen , Chris Mullen , Alanzo, Payton ..... what about them ?
These guys all HOF , and you dont think that they all have their legacys .
