Call me a homer, but I think Houston will hold onto a playoff spot. Denver has one of the toughest remaining schedules of any team, and they are already 3 games behind us.

Houston has had a very easy schedule the last month, and they lost Yao. With a pretty tough March, I think they'll go about .500 and Denver will be within 1 game either way by the end.

Houston has a tough March. Denver's remaining schedule is tougher still. '

I highly doubt Denver wins more games over the rest of the season than Houston. Not saying it can't happen, but even without Yao, Denver isn't SO much better than Houston that they can take their much tougher schedule and come out several games ahead, especially in light of their poor play recently.

Just for a quick sample:

In the next 5 games, Denver plays Houston, SA twice, Phoenix once, and Utah once.

And their end of the season schedule is a bear too.

If we (Houston) play the Lakers in the first-round, I don't think we could beat them twice. Honestly, something whack will have to happen (Pau's playoff virgin, Kobe injury etc)

^maybe it's just me, but Phx just hasn't looked like a championship team anytime during the past few weeks and I struggle to see them out of the 2nd rnd, if they make it that "far"

I totally agree that they are struggling out of the gate with the Shaq trade, but I think they'll get it together for that play-off push.
This will be a one (win championship this year) and done situation for Phoenix.

I didn't complain. I was just pointing out that this has been posed numerous times. I went ahead and posted my picks because I never bothered to do it on the other ones.

Denver, the same team that can't defend, gave up 135 pts to the bulls, blew a double-digit lead in the 4th to the Bucks, and barely beat the Clippers who had no Kaman or Cassell somehow moves up 2 spots into 7th?

AI is holding that team in the race, can he do it?

Denver's remaining Games
12 games vs. teams higher than them in the West
4 games vs. East Playoff teams
that leaves 8 easy win games

Houston schedule
11 games vs. west playoff teams including Denver
1 game vs. Boston
12 easy win games vs. cupcake teams

Phoenix needs to make the playoffs before they even start thinking about the word "championship"
