So, from the few NBA sites that I read, there seems to be a bit of buzz surrounding this kid. I havn't seen anything of him, so I'd like a GSW fan to enlighten me to what type of player he is and why he is being talked about so much.

He's Wilt and Jordan combined.
No but seriously, from what I understand he wasn't getting minutes earlier in the year and now that he is getting minutes he's contributing. He still has a long ways to go though.

His long arms remind me of Prince.

If you talk to 510 on the warriors board then he will tell you he dubs Brandan Wright as "Chris Bosh #2" and "The future franchise".
Now I don't know about all that, but Bwright has impressed me with his limited playin time. He has no back to the basket moves yet since he weights about 99 lbs, but his running game is good. He can def run the court and slash very well. He has mad hops and long arms to alter shots on defense. However since he is so skinny he can get boxed out and backed down pretty easily. Hes going to be a good player, but it may take a few years to become legit.

6'9", 198 pound power forward with little skill and decent athleticism. Not nearly as long as he looks due to how ridiculously skinny he is. I have him pegged as the biggest bust of the 2007 draft, just ahead of Corey Brewer.

Now early on in the season i didnt like wright because i didnt see all the hype around him and i still dont, but im not labeling him a bust anymore. It's too early to tell for you since ure prolly not a warriors fan.
Decent athleticism?

You have no idea what you are talking about. Firstly, at the draft he measured in at 6 10 and 200lbs and has gained weight since.
He has played very well in limited minutes on a team that is not looking for him to contribute this season.
To call him a bust, especially after producing in a small amt of time, is dumb.

He's an extremely skilled player.
He runs the floor, has freakishly long arms which allows him to block shots and be an above average offensive rebounder. He has good range out to 15-18 feet and very athletic. In future years if he can put on some more weight he seems like he'd be a perfect fit for the Warriors system.
Just the last game where he received a season in high in minutes (19) he scored 12 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and blocked three shots.
The Warriors seriously have a bright future with Biedrins, Ellis and Wright as the center-pieces.

^^He has like no jump shot honestly, and it shows in his FT shooting, but he has a nice hook with both hands.
and LOL at the guy who said he only has decent athleticism, he's more athletic than Bosh, for what that is worth. .5 inches less standing reach, faster lane agility, same 3/4 sprint, and about 3-4 inches of vertical.
He's got a long way to go, but lets not fool ourselves into thinking he doesn't have the tools of a big time player, he was the number 3 on most draft boards for a while, and before his freshman year started, some had him higher rated than Durant.

Wright isn't a bust. He's doing well in limited minutes. He'll become a great player, just might take some time.

He does have a jumpshot. FT shooting doesn't indicate if your a good jump shooter, that's really flawed logic. J-Rich is a pretty good jumpshooter and is a 69% career FT shooter, and he's a guard.

Umm, I didn't say he is bad because of his FT shooting, I said his FT shooting is a good indicator, he has a funky release, bad form, and doesn't hit shots consistently..... he's not a very good jumpshooter, it's one of his flaws as of now.

And I said that FT shooting isn't a good indicator, which it isn't. And how do you go from he doesn't have a jumpshot too he's not consistent? Shaq doesn't have a jumpshot, BW has a jumpshot.

whatever... he doesn't have a true jumper; can knock it down from 15ft but you wouldnt want him to use that as his bread n butter.
Very atheltic, fast, and damm long.
Reminiscence of a Biedrins-Bambi type with a better shooting skillset. Great head for the game (sounds bad).

He's been riding the bench the whole season since Nellie said "I don't play kids who still have braces".
But now that Andris Biedrins got that appendix surgery, Brandan Wright has started to get minutes and is now starting for us. He's doing very well, i'm excited for this kid. I just want to see how well he does for the rest of the season.

This is what Brandan Wright did to Josh Smith on the very first game where Wright got some decent minutes.

I know that's not eye popping, but he'll get better as the season progresses.
And here's another dunk he had a little earlier in the year.

It's not great but it shows potential. Hopefully he does more of that now that he's actually getting a chance to play.

Look how far the ball is from the hoop.
He finished the dunk too.
