Well IMO the SI.com rankings are the most accurate for top 5. Houston should be #1, 15 game streak and they just lost Yao and have continued to win? even if it's only been two games, still, tons of teams would falter given the same circumstances...

good work Marty...

Although they're all pretty similar, ESPN's rankings look most accurate. Even though the Rockets have continued their momentum with the absence of Yao, putting them any higher than 5 is simply idiotic.

You don't know what your talking about. Define power rankings. It's weekly basis on how you are doing weekly. It has nothing to do with anything else, thinking the Rockets should below 5 is stupid.

Rockets should be #1 in weekly ratings, but I thought that the Power Rankings are ranked according to playoff power?

so why don't they just have weekly rankings based on win percentage?

No, they are based on weekly performance in the season. There might be a separate ranking during the playoffs. You always see teams that win jump up, and teams that lose 2 or 3 go down.

i'm going to have to disagree with you 10 fold here my friend...Rockets are the top team in these rankings...hands down...call me when the Spurs, Lakers, Celts, Pistons or Hornets go on a 15 game streak...15 games, no matter the games is a hard task...and this season only the Blazers and Rockets have done anything like it...Pistons came close, at what, 10 games? and they were ranked #1 for that, Jazz also had a long streak and were ranked up there, so Rockets deserve it with 15...

I gotta take the Warriors > Cavs right now. So that part of the ESPN rankings seems odd.

Thanks theTHIEF for your fair comments. Is good to mention also that team are ranked for actual performance but for expectado performance as well depending of the coming schedule.

I think it could also depend on the teams they have played during the week and the margin of victories in those wins... or if they lost to whom and by how much.

If you beat Detroit, SA, and NO but lose to Boston by a couple of points on their home court. Then you should be ranked a little higher than a team that won all 4 of their games this week to the lower end teams and by slimmer margins.

just stop it...really...of course it factors in...but it's still 17 games...put your thinking cap on...
