IS AL HORFORD THE R.O.Y.?

YES. hawks are better than sonics. durant will be more prominent player over his career but horford is better rookie. Much like carmello should have been roy because he helped his team into the playoffs and lebron didn't although they had similar stats. melo was robbed. we all knew lbj would be better long term so that was melo's only chance to out do him and the sport writers took it.

Scola
Atlanta is 9th in the Leastern Conference.
Scola on the other hand has been doing a great job all season, he was the X factor in the Rockets' run and his role on the team is expanding now that Yao is out. If he doesn't win ROY it will be a crime.

Durant will win it most likely...but Horford is where it's at...

Yes. The only thing Durant is better than Horford at is missing shots badly.

I would vote for Horford. But I think they'll hand it to Durant.

+1
Scola is having a solid season but 9 points 5.5 rebounds isn't ROY worthy. And much like last season I don't see team success as much of a dependent on the ROY award, that imo penalizes high draft picks and rewards low 1st rounders.

i think there will be co-roy this year.
Durant the better scorer, while Horford the better Rebounder/Shot Blocker...
Just like when G.Hill and JKidd where co roys....

Team record, doesn't and shouldn't matter with ROY selections...

I honestly think Al Thorton is the best rookie right now

Agreed. I also could see Al Thornton sneaking into the conversation by the time the season is over.

Al is climbing the rookie ladder and fast, personally barring him going completely off I don't think he can get past #3 for the ROY. If you compare him to Durant, they match up pretty favorable but KD still got a decent edge in scoring. Now you match up him up vs Horford and Thorton has a marginal lead in scoring but Horford has a huge lead in rebound and has shown himself to be a pretty decent shot blocker. I think Horford having a playing time advantage for the whole season might be to great of a lead for Thorton to catchup.

I like Horford..the only Hawks player I like..he's going to be a great player for a long time IMO..Durant will be good too, he's just in a bad situation in his first year..
I could definitely see Scola making a run though..his numbers have been solid since he was inserted into the starting lineup...he's actually improved a lot in these last 2 months by adjusting to the NBA game, which was obviously going to take him some time..
26 MPG
13.2 PPG
60.6% FG
6.6 RPG
since he's been starting..those are pretty solid numbers considering the minutes played..

too bad the title is for Rookie of the Year, not half of year, or else i would vote for Carl Landry
it's either Kevin Durant or Al Horford
i'll got with Durant because he's a former Longhorn

Its Durant anyway. Whoever thought that He was going to come in the NBA, put seattle on his 19 year old back that couldn't lift 180 pounds, and save the franchise was delusional anyway.

Horford SHOULD get it. But it will go to Durant. Thornton is definetly in the running as well.
