How much would your team pay Ronny Turiaf?
I am a lakers fan and I like Ronny, but I am afraid a team might offer him good money to leave as a RFA this offseason. So the question is how much would your team pay to get him? MLE?
I have heard the sixers are very interested in him.

Turiaf is one of the few players the Knicks should and could get for the full mle. He could be paired with Curry or Randolph, as he is a better defender as Lee and has a jumper. He could be a Udonis Haslem type of player. Then you deal either Curry or Randolph, and the other one you pair with Lee/Turiaf.

Based on his current role, I think the Lakers should offer him $3-4 million and see how it works out. I'm sure he can get MLE from another team, but he has a history with the Lakers that can't be overlooked in that they paid for his heart surgery and took a chance on him. When all is said and done, I think he'll resign with LA for less money.

I love Turiaf's game and energy, but the Pistons already have a clone of him in Jason Maxiell, and its arguable Maxy is better.
But if I were offering him a contract, I'd offer something around 4 a year. However, big men always get paid more, and I could see someone throwing the MLE or more at him. Big men are just overpaid, and I have a feeling Ronny will be overpaid one day too. A team like Phoenix could really use him, but they are too cheap to spend the money, so somebody like New Jersey could be a good fit too.

Well, at least we aren't Cleveland... seriously... Indians, Cavs, Browns... ouch.

I agree with SS and Luke regarding the salary range. I think the fact that Ronny is such an unbelievably likable player clouds the fact that, with the possible exception of shot blocking, there's nothing he's really that great at.
He is what he is -- a solid role player with enough flaws that will probably keep him from being a legitimate NBA starter.
We've already wasted MLEs on Luke and Radmanovic. As much as I'd love to keep him around -- he truly is fun to watch, and a phenomenal teammate -- I'm not sure if we can afford to waste another one on Ronny. Especially with some of the tough financial decisions the Lakers are going to have to make in the very near future.
If somebody else wants to pay him -- I'd never begrudge Ronny a single dime, but I think it would be a mistake they would eventually regret.

I would be really mad if he left the Lakers. He's one of my favorite players and at one point was the only player outside of Kobe who showed that he wanted to win every game he played. He doesn't play much but he doesn't complain and is always cheering on his teammates. His energy is awesome and it is contagious. Kobe also really likes him. He and Sasha should be our top priorities this offseason. I would give them each a 4 year $16-$18 million deal.
