The Phoenix Suns Sign Gordan Giricek
The Phoenix Suns today signed guard Gordan Giricek (gor-DAHN GEAR-ah-check) for the remainder of the season, the team announced. Giricek became available when he was waived on Feb. 29 by the Philadelphia Sixers, who acquired him from the Utah Jazz on Dec. 29, 2007.

Clearly he was the missing piece. CHAMPIONSHIP BABY!

He's a pretty good shooter, at-best-mediocre at everything else. Utah wanted him to be a secondary ball-handler...and he couldn't do it. It's a good thing there's no CFT/48 stat ("called for traveling, per 48").
As long as Phoenix lets him play to his strengths, he should help them somewhat.

gorDAHN is ok

Let's see if Nash can have him averaging 18pts per game the rest of the season.

It was Giricek who hit the dagger 3 against the Suns to break the Magic's 19 game losing streak. So it's only appropriate.

Giricek is Phoenix Sun's missing piece, anything short of a championship is fail for the Suns

Giricek isn't a bad player at all. At least Phoenix added another shooter. I think this'll make them better simply because they can spread the floor more effectively, but I don't know how much of an overall impact Giricek will make.

isn't he a cancer?

Suns saw him sitting on the bench in their last game against the sixers and just thought, man we have to have that guy imagine if he was playing we would've lost by 20. hahaha can't wait for nash to break someone down and gira has a wide open 3 only to pump fake and travel while trying to go to the hole.

nice signing by the suns

It is good that they add a shooter. But I don't think he will contribute much. If they didn't release Jame Jones and Kurt Thomas, they would be much better.
Moreover, do you think he will get much playing time? We all know how Mike D'Antoni likes to play a 6, 7-men rotation.

Lets just say the Suns made a charitable move to Giricek, and that is all. He really sucks.

If he's playing for a coach like Jerry Sloan, then yes. Otherwise, I'd have to say no. He's also not a bad player, contrary to what Jazz fans will tell you. Not at all. It's nothing to get worked up about, but he can score some points off the bench and he's a better defender than you might think. If he gets minutes and D' Antoni lets him play his game, he'll be a solid addition.

I guess the Linton Johnson era is over
