When is it ok to go up to the opposing team (if you're friends or whatever). And shake hands catch up, share a few laughs and just say hello?
I mean before the game you're enemies and you want to be pumped to kill your opponent. But then again you wanna get that out of the way then battle.
Then after the game one of you lost which means you should be mad at the other team not laughing with them and pretending like that loss was nothing. Then again the battle is over so you can be friends again.
I think we can all agree it's bad to be friends DURING the game. But which one is prefered?

Players do it before the game, during the game and after the game. I see players laughing with each other all the time during FTs, after timeouts, beginning of quarters, etc. I don't see anything wrong with it, when the ball is in play they're trying to their hardest to beat the other guy.

Before the game you say hello. NBA players have been doing that since they were 5 year olds playing in park leagues. It doesn't mean you like your opponent, it's just sportsmanship. You can hate them during the game, and after if you lose.
I know Kobe had dinner with Caron Butler and his mother when he was on the road. I can't remember if it was before or after the game though.
I just think the hate for your victim should strictly be on the court. That's where the battles take place. Trying to muster up a hate for your opponent off the court is a sign of a mentally weak person imo. It should just be automatic when you step onto the hardwood.

There are players that like each other and players that hate. MJ or Pippen would never have even looked Bill Laimbeer in the eye. Somone like KObe is always chatting up with old pals like Horry, Pargo, Butler etc.

Magic and Isiah used to kiss before trying to kill each other.
Honestly, the only people who think all players have to be like video game characters with each other before/during games are guys who haven't played real sports much. If/when you do play competitive sports at a decent level, you will see that there all all kinds of ways people act with each other, mostly pretty normal, like saying hi, whatever.
It's not a cartoon.

Well, for the rockets, you can greet them after you stomp the crap out of them in a game.
They probably won't say hi back though, because they're running into the locker room full of tears.

I saw Magic and Larry high-five before games. Magic even KISSED Isiah before every game.

I never say hey to the best player on my team, because I would just be talking to myself.

Players are friends and talk and laugh with each other all game.
When the nets played otown in orlando Vince was waiting in the orlando locker room for dwight to get out of the shower after the game ready to goof around with him. After he just got blown out
