Reason Behind Some of the NBA's Nicknames

I thought this would be a good way for some of us to learn from eachother's basketball knowledge of players' nicknames. The first person will name someone that has an interesting nickname and they would like to know how they got it. Whoever knows the story behind the name will share it and then they will name another players' nick. I will start...(BTW, don't flame me. If you are not interested, I understand. Just be considerate).

I know why we call Shaq: The Diesel and Man of Steel...But what the heck is a Big Aristotle?

Aristotle was a famous Greek philosopher; Shaq likes to think he's really smart, so took that nickname too. Also helps that he's extremely quotable and the press loves him.

I can't think of any nicknames I'm curious about. Sorry.

Sasha Vujacic is called the machine as kind of a satire one time because he had like a 20 point game. It's kind of a running joke like the same way Chuck Norris is considered god or whatever.

the thing about him giving himself the nickname is also wrong.

the nickname comes from joel myers. i think he first said it during some game versus denver, which was one of (if not) his first good game of the year.

First, he shares the smile and eyebrows of a certain cereal icon:

Second, he takes nearly 8 three-pointers per 36 minutes of action.
