I thought it might be interesting to get an idea of the sort of predictions that posters have been right or wrong about. For me, I was right that the Ben Wallace signing was bad for the Bulls, and I was wrong in that I predicted Yao (before the draft) would be the next Shawn Bradley.

Right:

WC would still dominate the interconferences
Jose Calderon would become the Raps starting PG
Miami would collapse(I didn't think it would be this bad however)
Bynum would become a solid player (he's exceeded my expectations)
Yao or McGrady would suffer a longterm injury

Wrong:

Lebron James wouldn't be better than he was last year
Kevin Martin would make an All NBA team
Denver would win the Northwest
Charlotte would be a playoff team
Atlanta would be a playoff team (still a chance)

This year

Right: Pistons aren't done yet, they will still be close to the top of the standings

Wrong: Orlando will struggle to make the playoffs.

right: RJ was going to be top 10 in PPG

wrong: nets were gonna be a top 3 team in the east.

Right: Miami would miss the playoffs.

Nice idea.. it's good to show accountability for something you were off about, but also recognition is deserving of for being legitimate and correct.

Wrong

- Nets would be a contender, deep playoff team
- Grizzlies would be playoff contender
- Portland would be irrelevant
- Lakers would be a low playoff team
- New Orleans would be a 6th/7th seed team if healthy
- Bulls would be a top team in the east, respectable chance for ECF
- Kobe would be dealt

Right

- Denver hasn't improved notably defense (general pre-season comments about being better, and then with significant defensive focus from the team). Sure, there have been certain games where the defense has been above-average (from reading and seeing of these games). But that isn't meaningful with the collective defensive situation of the team on the season. And, high pace factors that are relevant in the regular season become typically insignificant in the playoffs. Especially with Denver's team make-up.

- The Suns group and strength of 3PT shooting decreasing even more from what it was previous seasons, this beginning suttlely in 06-07. Then unexpectedly lessened even more with the Shaq trade.

- The Raptors would have a drop off to a degree

- Ron Artest would not be traded

- Mike Bibby would be traded

- The Rockets having too much guard depth (coming into season)

- The Jazz would get out of their early season inconsistency

- Celtics three weren't "too old".

- The Celtics defense would be a stand-out - however, I didn't think it'd be as good as it's been.

- Boston trio would work very well. The main reason being because they're all unselfish players, and all don't need the ball in their hands to be effective.

- Paul Pierce isn't a mediocre defensive player. Always has had the ability, it's just been about what his role is and how much he can commit.

- The Celtics lacked a supporting cast around KG/Ray/Pierce. Mainly relating to the play of Kendrick Perkins (people calling this guy a "scrub" just didn't/don't know about his ability and overlooked what his role would be), Leon Powe (whenever this guy has gotten time, he's produced, and has had some good games too), Tony Allen (been healthy and got his legs going), Scalabrine (doesn't play as much as earlier in the season, though).

Wrong: Kobe would be out of LA

Right: Celtics Trio would pan out.

I can only really recall two things right now..

Wrong:

- That Bynum wouldn't have a whole lot more impact than Kwame this season and that we'd only win 48-52 games (and not be a contender). I was way wrong on this (couldn't be happier about that).

Right:

- This one is slightly arguable i guess. I made a sig-bet (iirc) with some random Maverick fan before the season that at the end of this season Danny Granger would either be better or atleast be on Ben Gordon's level..

Gordon: 19.4 ppg (FG: 42.3%, 3PT: 39.5%, FT: 90.5%), 3.3 rpg, 2.9 apg, 0.9 spg, 0.1 bpg, 2.25 tpg.

Granger: 18.4 ppg (FG: 43.9%, 3PT: 39.3%, FT: 86.6%), 5.8 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.1 spg, 1 bpg, 2.21 tpg.

Right: Monta Ellis being considered an All star (this was 2 years ago), That I would not trade him for Dwayne Wade...
Wrong: Lakers and Hornets being low seeded teams.

Ellis:

19.4ppg .. 4.6ppg .. 3.7apg .. 1.3spg .. 0.4bpg .. 1.8TO

Both play around the same minutes at 37 and 38.

If you're going to keep Monta because he is younger.. ehh, either way it doesn't make sense because Wade is a Super Star, Monta is an improving player, but not on a Wade level.

There is a higher ceiling for monta.
Not saying that wade is a bad player, he's great, but I wouldn't want to trade Monta away for him.
