(03-08) 18:25 PST -- NBA Commissioner David Stern answered questions on a wide array of topics in an interview this week, addressing the possibility of a shakeup in the NBA playoff system, the chances of the league expanding into Europe and the future of the Seattle SuperSonics, among other things.

Q: Thoughts on the flurry of trades this season.

A: Yeaaaaa, basketball. The flurry of trades have been great. What I can call sort of the unpredictability factor is the highest that it's ever been. You look at the standings, they're in every locker room. Oh you mean if Team A or Team B loses three games, the unthinkable happens; they don't make the playoffs. Can't we put four of our teams in the East? It's getting to be tight time because it's really exciting. And all of those teams thought that that one key addition might be their ability to change the unpredictability index to their favor. It's about as exciting as I remember it. It's really very good.
