Who would you rather face, pistons or celtics in playoffs

ok, ATL, Philli, NJ, are playing for the 7th and 8th spot. i wanna know between pistons and celtics who would a team stand more of a chance to beat.

for example

if your philli would you rather face the pistons the the celtics

The real quiestion is who does Cleveland and Orlando want, Detriot or Boston? Because I doubt that there will be a first round upset of either of those two teams. They are just two good. I think they will play each other in the ECF

^As long as Bosh is healthy, I can see the Raptors in the second round pretty easily.

I think Boston/Detroit is the ultimate pick your poison scenario. Those two teams will be in the ECF. That said, if I'm Cleveland, I'd rather face Detroit because I know I can beat them and I'd also pick Detroit if I'm Orlando because the one thing Detroit lacks is a true muscle guy to matc hup with Dwight. If I'm Toronto, I'll take Boston simply because those teams have produced some competitive games this season.

Looking at those two teams I'm way more scared of Detroit, playoff tested, and playing really good basketball as of late.

the celtics are playing better basketball right now.

won 8 in a row, including beating the pistons by 12, in a game that I don't recall the pistons ever leading.

last time they beat the pistons, they faded a little, maybe because it was there wasn't' more to prove, but now they are just embarrassing teams.

sheed is also hurt, so maybe thats why the pistons the bulls and knicks made them earn their recent wins.

the pistons pretty much choked away two ECFs in a row. they also took that second round with bulls to six games when they should have swept them.

and i don't buy flip either. so i'd rather face the pistons. they never seemed hype about games.

Chicago fans definitely would probably want to face the pistons this year.
they had a chance to sweep the season series last night.

lol.

seriously, it depends on which team you feel has a more suffocating defense.

to me they are about equal.

the celtics though, get hyped for most games. thats the type of attitude you don't want to see from your opponent.

certain teams would probably rather face the pistons because of their recent success - like the bulls, the cavs, maybe orlando.

the more athletic teams like philly and especially the bobcats if they make it would probably want to face the celtics.

i rather play the pistons, they were defeated by a single player last year in the final of conference.

If I'm an 8th seed sneaking into the playoffs, I'm terrified of Detroit, because I know they'll be merciless. I'm not convinced Doc would have his guys ready to play cutthroat basketball against lesser opponents in the same way the Pistons have learned to play over the past few years. That's not to say Philly or Indy has much of a chance of winning against either team, just that Detroit would summarily make you feel like you don't belong in the playoffs, while you might give the Celtics a bit of a run in a couple games.

As an Orlando fan, I'd much, MUCH rather face Boston than Detroit. We match up better against Boston than we do with Detroit.

funny, cuz detroit didn't show that at all last year in the playoffs.

if kg is on the court, i doubt he'd let his team coast in the playoffs against the nets or some other awful team.

Definitely Detroit.

As Phoenix Rockets mentioned, LeBron James single handedly slaughtered the Pistons last year and Dwyane Wade did the same the previous. There's no reason to believe Dwight Howard couldn't do the same. The Piston's big bad reputation far outweighs their actual accomplishments.

Detroit are the proven playoff performers. I'd be more scared facing them than an unproven Celtics team. Regular season success means nothing these days. See Dallas Vs GS.

really? wouldn't you rather face the team you blew out by about 20 points after the all star break? that would be detroit, right?

As a Jazz fan I choose Detroit. We have swept them 4 straight years. Last time the Jazz lost to Detroit we had Stockton and Malone.

I hate the Dallas Vs. Golden State comparison... if the Warriors made the Jackson/Harrington trade before that season started, they would have been higher than 8th, and obviously then wouldn't have played Dallas in round 1, this fact is often ignored.

As a Raps fan I'd rather play the Celtics. The Pistons destroy us every time we play, but the Raps have done OK against the Celtics this season.

Detroit's most recent "playoff experience" is getting taken out in the ECF by inferior teams.

Detroit's vets are way more likely to coast through the first round than Boston, KG plays harder than any other star in the league and you see it every game.

From a basketball standpoint, Boston has the best D in the game and they have 3 guys who have been consistent 20 point scorers for around a decade. Detroit is probably more balanced on offense but they aren't as tough on D (Garnett). Neither one is going lose in the first round, just ain't gonna happen. The Cleveland hype is pretty loud right now but they are gonna be a long shot against Boston if it comes to that... Detroit is better this season than last too.
