I had this discussion on our board regarding Darrick Martin. Where alot of people said if given the chance to go 1 on 1 with Darrick Martin that they could win.

Im not asking this question regarding team ball, simply 1 v 1 ball. Now there might just might be a worse player then D-mart. If so do you think you could beat him?

The NBA is suppose to be where the best players in the world play so saying that you could beat someone 1 on 1 is a big claim.

You cannot answer in this thread if you are already an NBA player

I'm pretty sure I'd lose zero to whatever we're playing to. I might get a point if I were really insanely lucky and shooting out of my mind... but I'm 5-9, white, and incredibly unathletic, so that's pushing it.

But at least I'm honest...

I know we had a guy from RealGM tryout for the Hornets team and he got accepted into camp. I think there might be one, if that many.

Whoever says they can, deserved to be shot for stupidity.

I think I could beat a couple guys, when I was playing in Highschool I was getting recruited heavy until I pulled both my achilles tendons my Junior year, never been the same since and missed the whole Junior season, but I'm still very athletic and 6'0 so, I think there's a couple guys I can beat.

A prime example of someone i think I could beat would be Ryan Bowen, I'm way more athletic with a way better shot and 10x the ballhandler he is.

Let's put it this way. Darrick Martin blindfolded would still probably beat me. I have some skill, but I'm slow and not good enough defensively. I consider myself the NBA equivalent of Antoine Walker on my senior b-ball team. I'm chubby, can't run for jack, but I sure as hell can jack up some 3s :P

If only everything relied on athletism and such. Theres a reason Ryan Bowen has played 6,209 minutes and James white close to none. James White one of the best athletes in the world and maybe even better shooter then him but somehow Ryan's in the NBA and not James white.

The differance between mine and Ryan Bowen's shooting is so much greater than his and James White, so I have faith in my game.

Anyone who says they can beat an NBA player needs to pinch themselves. There are guys who are on the end of the bench and out of the league who were super stars in college. If you said you think you can score a few points, that's realistic. But win? Keep dreaming.

Actually in practice they say hes a very good shooter but come game time he cant make a shot to save his life.

Are you a better shooter Gerald Green cause i could make the same correlation for him

Remember, were talking one on one, Green is an immature kid, thats why no one wants him, I think my ballhandling is better than Green's, but he is more athletic, and I think most people would say Green would kill Bowen one on one, his game is made for one on one, as is mine I think, my problem is I couldn't go back to back games, my heel gets sore and I can't even walk on it as soon as I take a short break and it gets tight. One on one I think I'd be ok.
