After Bill Simmons wrote his article and is campaigning to be the next Bucks GM he made some great points as an outsider looking in. He made a point that the Bucks are currently building for the now (Redd,Williams and Simmons signings) and building towards the future (Bogut, Yi, Villanuava,Sessions)

He claimed that the Bucks are trying to do two opposites at the same time and I agree with him. They also have one of the youngest rosters in the NBA with no true leader and a rookie head coach that it seems the players dont respect.

Obviously this franchise is in disarray and has an owner that meddles in the GM's and coaches business (nixes the Triangle offense during the first week of the season, cock blocks trades). Our GM is trade happy and seems to rather build a fantasy basketball roster than a true team.

My question to the General board, what would you guys change about the Bucks? What do you think are the right pieces and who should go? Bucks fans have had nothing but mediocrity for the last 20 years and are screaming for a winner. With the NBA planning to go global (franchise in Europe) soon we could be a prime candidate to be shipped, is there anything that this franchise can do to salvage this mess?

Michael Redd.

Michael Redd is the better player. Easily.

What's wrong with building now and for the future? The Spurs won a title in 2003, and had this nice young PG named Tony Parker and a decent bench youngin named Manu Ginobili that they had just signed. They just don't have enough talented players, and small market teams can't afford to make mistakes like Simmons or Gadzuric. And I love Redd, but if Kevin Martin can't get the max, Redd shouldn't. Though obviously, the Bucks would have lost him for nothing if they didn't offer the max.

I would trade Redd on draft night for a top 5 pick and cash. Dump Bobby Simmons and Ruffin. Then build through the draft for a few seasons. After a few losing season hopefully my team could get a great big man to built around and then I will put the pieces around that big man.

Who can/wants to trade a top 5 pick straight up for Redd? How do you dump a $20M man?

But if we're playing that game, I'd trade Redd for Kobe and Mo Williams for LeBron.

They have Bogut, currently an average/slightly above average starting center and Redd, currently an above average starting SG. They need to either hope for Yi to become a real monster or hope that they can land a real stud in the draft.

When you have guys like Duncan and Robinson anchoring the middle getting young talent around them sure doesn't hurt. Bogut and Yi obviously don't have that effect and neither does Redd.

See if Michael Redd is in for the long haul. If he is then keep him, if not and he doesn't want to wait any longer now that he's in his prime Trade him for a big chip.

Choose one of Bogut or Yi. Only one PF like defender in the post. Then get someone to compliment them. Someone that is a post defender for the beef guys [moreso if you choose Yi] and someone who is a great help defender.

Decide if Yi is best at SF so you can get another rebounder, if Bogut is best at PF so you can get a strong inside tandeem with another Center next to him.

Your PG rotation is fine enough, it's not going to hurt you and there going to be there a long time.

Your going to need another great prospect and time for both of them to develop with Yi or Bogut.

I don't see what MIL could want in this draft. Too many of the good prospects in this draft are either at the PG/SG side that I think either duplicates Redd too much or they already are set with a starting PG to draft. And I don't think a undersized but tough PF is the star prospect they need.

This is really tough they don't have the contracts right now to match up with prospects to trade for someone in a sign and trade. Iggy is staying in Philly. J-smith isn't exaclty enough of the prospect they want at PF but he is close if somone optomistically thinks Bogut is an every possesion touch player in the post.

Yeah but defentily decided between Yi and Bogut, then see who wants to trade a stud SF/PF/C for Bogut/Yi and a PG [hopefully MIL will have OJ Mayo or Bayless to trade with]. Simmons may need to be included if it's Yi who is the one beign traded.

I'd say that Milwaukee needs to rid itself of Michael Redd, keep Jianlian at SF, and trade Villanueva to another team for a banger PF.

^^Bogut can't play PF, he's a center and only a center. He's our best defender anyway.

Bogut has mos def improved his defense this year. This puts him slightly above average Post defense. Yi is still very raw but has shown glimpses of all star material. Bogut and Yi could work at the 5 and 4 long term due to Bogut stepping up his d and Yi has the ability to block a shot per game and grab atleast 8 boards once he gets acclimated to the NBA.

Currently the Bucks biggest need is a starting small forward, Mason is best served as an energy guy off the bench and Simmons is straight garbage. Either Redd or Mo need to go. The one thing the Bucks dont need anymore of is shoot first guards (Mayo would not work) we need defense badly. Hopefully Sessions can develop into a pass first point guard, and if thats so bye bye Mo.

That is aimed more at the point that they aren't talented enough, not that you shouldn't always be stockpiling youth behind your starters.
