Didn't mean to spam... When you see the Magic on the sched.

Post#1 » by Edrock » Wed Mar 12, 2008 4:03 pm

So I started to post this on individual team boards, because I wanted a response from EVERY team, but since people started to complain that I was spamming (it seemed like a legitimate post that could spur discussion, so I didn't categorize my queestion as spamming). I guess I'll post a poll on here. I wanted to try & get a general feel as to how a non-Magic fan views the team that I follow.

Do you guys think "ooh that's a win" or "aww.. that's probably a loss" when you see the Orlando Magic on the sked?

Depends on how I feel about my own team that day. There's few teams that I look at as "Oh, that's a loss", or even "well, that'd be a little hard to win".

I see it as a tough game on the schedule. We could win or we could could gobbled down by Howard and great perimiter shooting. This is coming from a Warrior fan.

Houston tends to match up well against Orlando. T Mac also has a vendetta against them or something so I usually count that as a winnable game.
We have met the enemy, and he is us.

The Raptors tend to match up really well with the Magic, always an exciting game. It's pretty much a toss up, could go either way.

i fear more any top9 team in the west than them, i don't consider it a easy win, but yes a game we should win. anyway we lost one game against them this season with both tmac and yao playing but strugling.

Six of you are liars. No team has a guaranteed win here.

Half the people had the Magic has an automatic win when I posted. No one should bow down to us, but half the people were disrespecting the Magic...and are also dumb.

The Magic haven't yet reached the status where beating them is really considered a "big win". They have had one decent season out East, it takes either a season like the one Boston's having or prolonged, stable success laced with playoff impact like Detroit has to get that sort of status.

The Magic just aren't there yet, and to be honest they aren't close. The would have to continue improving and make a splash in the playoffs soon to get even a fraction of the respect you are fishing for here.

Not an indictment of your team, just a statement that they aren't yet established. One decent season (especially in the East) just doesnt do it.

^ agreed...As an Orlando fan i definitely dont think we're there yet.

We surely have the potential to get there in the next few years, but we'll see how it goes.

I'd say at least a 1st round win this year, sign a decent player with MLE in offseason and draft a decent player and we'll be pretty close if not within the parameters of being a "feared" team.

Howard's the type of guy you know is going to be huge night in and out, but their guard play really sucks, which makes it a winnable game (note: not easy; tough, but winnable)
