Kobe Bryant's already hit 13 technicals for the season, and only 3 away from an automatic suspension. (The Rasheed Wallace Rule)

The Technical fouls do carry over into the playoffs so don't you think this could be a big issue for the Lakers since Kobe argues almost every call.

It won't be too much of an issue. Once he gets close, he'll adjust his attitude considerably.

No, they don't. They reset. Beginning in the playoffs you start with 0, once you hit 6 there is a suspension, I believe.

kobe already adjusted last night. he didn't complain, walked away from refs, and simply just kept quiet. he's not getting to the suspension number.

Are you sure? Rasheed got a suspension once in the playoffs for his 18th tech or something if I can remember. I don't know though, maybe you're right.

One of my biggest beefs with Kobe. I can't stand the way he complains throughout the game.

That said, he was clearly making an effort to shut his pie hole last night, which is a good sign. I think they should actually take the technical limit down to 10 so that players learn to keep their mouth shut more often.

+1 I've seen Kobe follow ref's and yell at them as they try and walk away from him. He does get away with alot.

so does tim duncan...and so does lebron james. ITs called superstar treatment and it has been this way forever.

I hate his attitude with the refs but sometimes you can't blame him. Refs treat him very wierd. Some call phantom fouls for him and some wait till they see the blood.

But Kobe looks like a maniac when he talks to refs. And he lets the F bomb fly nonstop. Duncan just looks silly and isn't crazy up in the refs face.

what's hilarious is when he gives refs a dirty look even after they give him a call. like it was disrespectful calling it a second late or something. he's such a freaking diva.

I don't mind players complaining to refs, but when they do it and don't get back on defense is what pisses me off.

Kobe's the only player who thinks he's fouled (and will yelp about it with his trademark "heeeey!") every time he misses a shot or a defender is within 6 feet of him. It's hilarious. Dude got 27 FT's the other night and complained on at least a dozen other non-calls. He honestly thinks he deserved 35+ FT's. Against the Jazz about a month ago, he drew literally 16 fouls against Utah in the first half...and still cried for more calls. Dude's a joke.

The way he acts, he should be T'd up every single game. Didn't see the last game, however, where people in this thread said he toned it down, so hopefully he's learned to keep his mouth shut, but I doubt it.

Kobe thinks he's so good that the only way he would miss is if he gets fouled.

Kobe is deffinately the biggest complainer not on the Pistons. Also known as the 9th biggest complainer. Hard to believe the Pistons find the time to play basketball between all that whining.

Are you kidding me? If we were talking about lebron, wade or another star it would be "Oh nOes teh refs!" You in particular harp on about other superstars getting special treatment but its ok for kobe to get it? Double standards mate

To be fair, he learned from the master and his idol, Michael Jordan, who had a pretty successful career. It has worked out pretty well for Bryant, though he still hasn't quite reached Jordan's level of ref protection. To his credit, he is trying.

Jordan never complained NEARLY as much as Kobe does. It's reached hysterical proportions with Kobe.

And ref protection? Do you want me to post their respective FTA numbers from age 26-29 again? Yeah, didn't think so...

Jordan complained like no other. The fact that you just started watching Kobe this season since acquiring Gasol, where for some reason he has complained far more than he usually does, doesn't really mean much to fans who pay attention.

Considering Nique, Drexler, Magic, Chambers and even Mullin were all getting to the FT line at comparable and in fact even better rates than late 20's Jordan during those same seasons and/or at comparable ages, your contention that were was some ref conspiracy (er, simultaneous league-wide "epiphany") so severe that 5 separate perimeter players were getting to the line as well/better than early 90's MJ is, well, funny to say the least. Everyone sane not named "Jordan23Forever" would agree.
