Your cult players

Post#1 » by Mr. Savage » Thu Mar 13, 2008 7:16 am

Post your favourite cult players in here. No superstars or all stars allowed.

I'll start with Ratko Varda.

Seriously, does this guy really look like an NBA player ?

He played played a remarkable one game for the Detroit Pistons and posted his NBA career highs in points (5), rebounds (1), FGA (3) and FGM (1). He ranks among the all time best in Points per 48 minute with an astonishing total of 39.9 ppg.

Ratko Varda. You gotta love him.

My next candidate is actually stuck around longer and never failed to impress, even though it is not sure if it was actually his play that caused admiration. The Big Dog. Antoine Carr.

I have to admit that Carr actually wasn't that bad of a playerand actually played a rather important role in Utah's finals appearance in 98. It is just his goofy look with those sunglasses that made me remember him. He also has to be considered one of the "rebound shyest" players in league history, averaging only 3.4 in 20 mpg throughout his career.

Come on, if a bank gets robbed, you imagine Kurt running from the hardwood, tear that Lakers jersey from his body, fly to the scene of the crime in red and blue spandex and stop the burglar with his heat vision!

I was wondering how long it would take before his name popped up. You can't talk about cult players in the NBA without mentioning Kurt.

I know of a certain former Blazer that has a HUGE cult following but I want the first post about him be a massive tribute not done by me because i cbf.

But my favourite scrub is Jamison Brewer. I used to always have him in the bottom of my depth chart in NBA Live :D

If Ratko Varda only played in one game for 4 minutes and put up 5 points and grabbed a rebound, I don't see how this guy couldn't stick around for a second game?

PrEEEEMO. BREEEZZZZICHE. is my favorite cult player of the moment.

But I also gotta give it up for The Junkyard Dog Jerome Williams.

But if those guys aren't scrubalicious enough for you, Pepe Sanchez.

Do any of the aforementioned cult stars have an 81 page thread dedicated to them? The answer is "no," so there really is only one possible answer to this question: Ha Seung-jin FTW!!!!

Ah Delaney Rudd! He used to kill our teams(Efes Pilsen-Ulker Istanbul) as an Asvel player then he came to Ulker and didn't play anything.
