My 3 crazy predictions

Post#1 » by Islanders82 » Thu Mar 13, 2008 4:25 pm

I'm usually pretty good with stuff. Here's my 3 predictions.

-The 76ers will upset whoever they play in the 1st round.

-The Jazz will win the west but get bounced out in the 1st round.

-The Hornets will make it to the Western Conference Finals.

Jazz have a brutal last 6 games of the season and pretty much have no chance of getting on top in those last 6 games.

In fact a better bet would probably be to have the Jazz make the finals then to finish with the best record in the West.

The first one is laughable. Boston and the Pistons will slaughter them. The Sixers are playing good basketball lately, but they don't stand a chance in the playoffs. Their better off tanking to be honest.

The Jazz will be luck to get homecourt in the first round. And if Golden State is the 8th seed, you really think they'll beat the Jazz? Golden State is the same as last year and the Jazz are better, so I don't see how anything changes from what happened last year.

And the 3rd one could happen. I personally would like to see the Hornets there, but I don't think they have the experience to make it that far. Give them one or two years, after the Spurs, Mavs and Suns runs are pretty much over with.

Sixers with a first round upset? HA.

Jazz #1 seed, and losing in the first round? HIGHLY unlikely....but not impossible.

Hornets going to the WCF? Great minds think alike.

I have a hard time believing Philly could beat Washington, Toronto, New Jersey in the first round let alone Detroit and Boston

yeah, they've had a nice little run but at the end of the day they have no inside scoring, are mainly a running team.

Philly is going to upset Detroit (their opponent if the playoffs began today)? Are you a Sixers fan by any chance? I don't think the bottom three teams in the East are going to do anything remarkable in the playoffs.

-The Jazz will win the west but get bounced out in the 1st round.

Winning the west requires a team to beat their opponent in the Western Conference Finals on their way to representing their conference in the championship series; therefore, this prediction is impossible how it's worded. If you mean they'll get the best record, and then get knocked out in the 1st round, you might be right. Dallas is currently the 7th seed. That would be a tough series. The top three have to falter big time first.

-The Hornets will make it to the Western Conference Finals.

I don't see this happening. The West is too strong.

So the guys a homer for saying Boston or Detroit would destroy Philly in a 7 game series? Well I guess I'm a Boston/Detroit homer as well, because to me its painfully obvious that the 6ers don't belong anywhere near a playoff series and it will be an embarrassment to the NBA when these pathetic Eastern teams (4-8 seeds) are actually displayed on the biggest stage, the postseason. Philly needs to improve vastly just to be considered mediocre. They will be ripped limb from limb if they take the 7th or 8th spot. That should be obvious to everyone.

Haha if you seriously think the 76ers can beat the pistons in the playoffs, your a bigger homer then i can ever be.

The pistons and celtics have a whole other level of intensity that the 76ers just dont have. The Pistons played one of their worst games of the season last night and you only won by 1. And the only reason I'm not including the cavs or magic in this is that i dont think theyre good enough to get a seed high enough to even play them

Results from Boston versus Philly
March 10th - Boston 100, Philly 86
January 18th - Boston 116, Philly 89
December 7th - Boston 113, Philly 103

It's not even close! Boston won by an average of at least 10 points a game. Wouldn't one of these contests have been close if the matchup was fair for Philly?

i don't see the 76ers beating the Pistons, but those stats mean absolutely nothing if they face each other in the playoffs...

My mistake. I thought Philly was in eighth place. I still don't give them a chance though. Every great team has off nights.

If Philly can finish 6th in th East, then MAYBE they can upset the Magic. Don't bet on it though.

It means they'll get 1st seed and lose to the 8th seed Warriors or whoever is in the 8th seed.

Dude, as much of a Jazz fan as I am, I know that there's no way that the Jazz win the west this year.

Dude Philly i don't think is even gonna make the playoffs with all due respect

Chicago or Atlanta could make a run

Even if Philly does make it barely, they can't beat any team more than once in a series.
