* * The RealGM Statbook Thread * *

Post#1 » by CupcakeNoFillin » Thu Mar 13, 2008 4:50 pm

So yeah, I just came up with an idea. Here is where you can post stats about your team and players without being called a homer. I'm pretty sure that every team out there has some type of amazing stats but aren't recognize by the casual fan yet. Usually, the stats go unnoticed because team's fans on here can't find the right thread and time to post them... and if they post it in the wrong thread at the wrong time, they would be called a homer.

So, post them here instead and maybe we can be successful at compiling a bunch of interesting facts that would be interesting for people to read through over time or whatever.

I'll start if off.

===============

Golden State Warriors

Here are a few facts that i'll try to get from the top of my head. If I remember any more i'll add on to it.

-The Golden State Warriors went 0-6 to start their season. Ever since that 0-6 start and Stephen Jackson's return, the Warriors are 40-17 which would be the 4th best record in the league right now. Phil Jackson says that ELITE teams get 40 wins before 20 losses.

-As of right now, the Warriors have 28 consecutive games of scoring 100+ points.

So yeah that's all I remember right now. Post some interesting stats about your team/player as well!

And if you took away all of the Warrior's losses, they would be 40-0. Which is even more impressive.

Yeah, but at least what I said about my team wasn't a big stretch. Even if Stephen Jackson never got suspended and we still lost to the Jazz twice during our first 6 games, we would still be 40-19 which is still good.

SINCE CUPCAKE POSTED STATS ABOUT HIS WARRIORS WINNING A LOT OF GAMES, I'M GOING TO MAKE A CLEVER JOKE TO DISCREDIT WHAT HE SAID, AND CAUSE EVERYONE TO LAUGH AND NOT TAKE CUPCAKE'S POST SERIOUSLY.

Since Dec. 4 with either Bynum or Gasol in the lineup the Lakers are 36-5.

Come on. This isn't supposed to be a Warriors thread. Someone else post some stats about their team. There's a lot of underrated teams out there you know.

When Damon Jones hits 2 or more 3-point shots the Cavs are 18-13.

I don't remember the exact quote from Doug Collions but it goes something like this:

"The Detroit Pistons are undefeated when they hold opponents under 100 and score over 100"

I thought that was pretty stupid from him.

The Rockets have only lost 4 games this year (2008).

Toronto has held opponents under 80 points nine times this season; no team has more such games, though Boston and Detroit also have nine apiece.
