1988/1989 - MJ averaged 32.5 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assist on 53.8% shooting which is ridiculous.

2007/2008 - Lebron is averaging 31 points, 8 rebounds, 7.4 assist on 49% shooting.


Over 30 points a game,plus the ability to put up 8 boards and 7.4 assist on top of that and be efficient at 49% shooting. Has there ever been a better season when what Lebron is having in the last 18 years.

He is arguably having the best STATISTICAL season since 89', but individually, NO. Guys like Hakeem, Shaq, Kobe, TD, KG, , Kidd have put up better seasons on BOTH sides of the court, something MJ was known for.

Talk to me when Bron goes All-NBA/All-D the same year, because being dominant on both sides of the court is what makes the best individual seasons.

Olajuwon and Robinson's prime seasons had them producing

25+ ppg
12+ rpg
3.5+ apg
4+ bpg
2+ spg
52+ FG%
75+ FT%

With quadruple doubles here and then...


As good as MJ's 32/8/8/2.5/1.5/54%/80% season... geez come to think of it... its ridiculous.

If Lebron ever became a better FT shooter and jump shooter, not only could he have a 35 PPG season, he could average it for his career

If Lebron ever became a better FT shooter and jump shooter, not only could he have a 35 PPG season, he could average it for his career

jordan and lebron both average(d) around 10FTA. so theres only like 1pt difference between jordan and lebron there.

and i think lebron relies too much on strength and athleticism to average 35ppg for his whole career. of course, being so young, he can improve on other areas tho.

Call me a homer but TMac's 32-7-6 was pretty good too. idk if it's the best, but it's right up there.

Actually, LeBron's already carried his team further than Jordan had up to and including the 1988-89 season. LeBron still has another six years to beat or equal Jordan's first title at the same age (minus two months since Jordan was born in Feb and LeBron in Dec).

^ the number of years you do it in is more important than age...he came from hs, so has that advantage over everyone, but if you use the numbers of years to compare, its fair to everyone

I don't think it's because he relies on his athleticism. I think it's because averaging 35 ppg for a career just is not going to happen. LeBron would have to average 42 ppg over the next 5 years to bring his average up to 35ppg.

He certainly could average 35 ppg in a season, but he won't. Just think if every time he passed the ball, he shoot instead. There you go. You have 35 ppg.

I predicted a 32 8 8 after the first month, let's see if he can make it. Cavs will need lots of heroic games from him to reach 50 wins.

Great season for Lebron and definately forgot about the TMac year. I think that people forget how good Tracy McGrady is. If only he didnt have the heart of a tin man he'd really show us something. I always think to myself "wow, this isnt even his favorite sport."

I cant belive people are forgetting tmacs crazy year. Hes had a better year than bron.
