Back to Back
Some teams perform well... and some players can get into that fatigue and tired. Wouldnt it be great if we had no back to back games??

It's not logistical due to scheduling. Let's say 15 times a team a year every team has a back to back. Thats 15 days of rest you need to add on to the season. So If regular season ended Apr 20th. You would have to push that back to the 5th of May or so. Also with the 7-7-7-7 format of the playoffs the NBA would not end until sometime in Mid to late July or early AUgust.
NBA is already treading on MLB waters after Apr 1st. If you postpone the finals you may lose even more viewership, who may be interested in watching their local MLB team in a pennant chase. Pennant chases start heating up in Mid July and August.
Also less people watch Tv in the summer. You would more then likely see further ratings decrease if you pushed the schedule back. If anything the NBA should look to cut its schedule and get evrything wrapped up by June.
Plus who cares about regular season back to backs. No team is expected to go 82-0 and is going to have an off night. Players just have to suck up and play them to meet scheduling guidelines.

Or they could just shorten the season by about 10 games.

losing games and the money generated from those games is not an option for nba owners. The system seems to function fine as it is. I would just recommend starting the season a week after the World Series. A lot NBA teams have to share their arenas with hockey teams and other various events(rodeo show in SA, Westminister at MSG) so Im not sure how prqactical that would be.

Oh, i agree, owners would never cut down the number of games. But I've always been of the thinking that if there were fewer games mid season games would have more importance, there would be less injuries, and players would be fresher come playoff time. But, it will never happen.

There are also times during a season that teams rest for 3 or more days, so if you reduce those you probably can still end the season around April 20.
I guess it is just too complicated to organize an 82 game schedule for 30 teams taking into account TV ratings, marketability and all that crap. So back to back games must make things easier.
