So are we out of the post-Jordan dark age?(1999-2007)

Stories like these are popping up like crazy. I think that the casual fan has no excuse for blowing off the NBA.

great players are also great character guys, only "fault" some might find is excessive tattoo's. i think the nba is in a great spot as of now.

EDIT: Not only that but the great players now are also very confident in front of the camera and have a personality that identifies them to the average fan.

that depends on the playoffs...but were comin out of it for sure...man I remember those dreadful 2002 and 2003 years....

I would call it Magic/Bird/Jordan years. Michael joined the league when Magic & Bird were prime ball players. The 3 of them are among the top 5 players of all-time (Wilt & Bill).

But yes, somewhat.

The west race is just fantastic... 10 playoff teams battling for the spots. The first playoff spot and last is seperated by very little.

Bryant, James having a showcase of individual dominance.

Celtics, the league's most historic team, best team in the league with 3 stars.

Lakers back in contention.

Old champion and former MVP trying to prove his worth again on trying to help the Suns get over the hump.

Spurs overlooked again.

Battle of the PGs, the league had a time where it lacked MVP caliber PGs, now there is a few of them.

Its great!

Kings vs Lakers was great . But the finals were terrible

I thought the Lakers in Shaqs prime were pretty damn good. The Spurs have been great too. There has been no dark ages.

There is no reason for the NBA not to be popular right now. But some people are close minded and won't accept the way today's game is played.

Maybe a Lakers/celtics matchup, The media would hype that like crazy. Also a lebron vs kobe finals would be heavily hyped too.
