hayes is a perfect example of the specialized players that have come into the nba the past 10 to 15 years with no ability to put the ball in the basket and cant even shoot fundamentally sound but is making million to striclty rebound and hustle

going back just 20 years you had to have some skill to put the ball in the basket there were no speicalized players like u have now

hahahah this is hilarious but i initiallly though of jason collins because all he does is set screens he can go an entire game without one point, one rebound and one block. i think he did that once haha

Specialized players in the NBA whether be in defense or offense are still a hundred times better at putting a ball in the basket than your average basketball player.

im talking nba level, you u used to have to have some ability to put ball in the basket in some capacity

now theres guys who have no ability to score and are there just to hustle or defend

and if u are a "proffesional" its pathetic to have form like hayes does..

For a free throw to look that bad, there has to be a psychological problem. Glancing over his stats, it appears his shot used to be more reliable in his first NBA years and much more reliable when he was in college. Also, a poster at a Rockets forum mentions that his form in practice is much smoother than in game, so I'm guessing it's a psychological issue that rears its ugly head when he's under pressure.

That is by far the most horrific free throw shooting I have ever seen, and I've seen Shaq at the line, so that says a lot.

Can some Rocket's fans please comment? Is his form this bad on all his free throws in games?

One of the clips against the Jazz for instance, although far from normal, is at least a little smoother than the Denver scenario.
