Adelman a lock for COY?

Doc Rivers, Don Nelson, Stan Van Gundy, Phil Jackson, Jerry Sloan, Gregg Popovic and Byron Scott are all having great seasons at the helm of their respective teams, but it's going to Adelman this year.

The win streak, the loss of Yao, the play of Rafer Alston and the Rockets currently sitting first in the West all have to favor Rick.

Even if the Rockets don't finish first in the West at the end of the season, what they've done so far this season is IMO enough to certify Adelman as the best coach in ball this season.

At the start of the season, things didn't look so rosy for the team, but they've come together nicely and the team is playing better than they ever did under Van Gundy.

Speaking of Van Gundy, it's no surprise that he got fired. Hearing him commentate for ABC is a mockery in it's own right.

What are your thoughts? You think that any other coach is worthy of the award over Adelman?

COY has been a roller coaster ride this season.

Beginning of the season - Doc Rivers

During Portland's Win Streak - Nate McMillan

When New Orleans was at the top of the West - Byronn Scott

When the Lakers had control of the west after the break - Phil Jackson

Now - Rick Adelman

If the Rockets finish on a hot note I don't see how he doesn't get it. We'll see what happens.

I think Adelman you have to go give it to him, making history without Yao Ming, thats a big accomplishment.

I can't off the top of my head think of anyone more deserving, but a month and a half ago I would've said Byron Scott ...

The only thing that might hurt Adelman's chances are if the Rockets end their streak and don't get much higher than 52 wins, the amount they had last year. COY usually goes to the coach that improves a team in the W column the most.

I don't think Doc Rivers will get it, everyone knows Boston is great because of the 3 superstars. Rivers sucks.

I'm going to say it'll be either Byron Scott, Stan Van Gundy, or Rick Adelman. If the Rockets win more than 55 games I think he'll get it (9-7 to do so). But if they don't get to 55, I think Scott or Stan win it.

Has Byron Scott won one yet? He's been a consistently fantastic coach and my pick for COY if he doesn't have one already. I wouldn't mind if Adelman or Doc Rivers won either. The celtics and rockets execute better than anyone on defense.

With this 22 win streak without their Star playing in Yao, Adelman is very deserving of this if they can keep up a consistent season and finish top 5.

I don't think it's a LOCK, but he's up there in the top 3.

For me it is between Doc and Rick, both have done a great job but in the end its who has the better record at the end of the year. I would love for Rick to win it, but I dont think this win streak will be enough to push him over the edge.

I know DJ Augustin personally, he's one of my close friends. I've known him since high school because he used to go to by high school.
