Will Chris Paul make the All NBA First Team this season?

Post#1 » by JordansBulls » Sat Mar 22, 2008 5:32 am

It is just weird that he was not a starter in the allstar game but yet may very well make the 1st team All NBA.

You answered your own question. To answer it though, Of course, he's an MVP candidate meaning automatic 1st team.

Paul is the best player in the NBA. Nobody does it better at both ends.

Paul doesn't player better defense or offense than Kobe. You are just plain wrong right there.

But he plays better offense than Kobe and comparable defense.

Yea dude I dunno about that. Best point guard yes. Best player...not even close to Kobe IMO.

There are several two way players who are comparable to him. Wait till the POs come to judge him. I'm very concerned by Paul's inability to guard average sized, let alone, bigger players.

Paul is the most flawless player I've seen since Michael Jordan. No errors in his game. The next closest would be Duncan but his free-throws remain a flaw.

I think Paul will make the All-NBA 1st Team this year, but I agree that he doesn't really come close to matching guys like Kobe or LeBron.

He's got pretty good post defense.

And I don't want my PG posting up and stifling ball movement, and crowding my bigs.

How does he guard bigger players in the post? And you don't like a PG that can play the post like a center?

Paul's the 2nd best guard in the league, I can't see why he wouldn't. The guy is averaging over 20 points, 11 assists and almost 3 steals and he plays great defense.

I don't count LeBron in any discussion with Paul, his defense hasn't become a notable part of his game yet. And when people say his stats make him an MVP candidate despite his poor team I laugh. The only player I saw who can win MVP despite his poor team is Jordan - 1.6 blocks 3.16 steals 35ppg .535fg, those are stats, and defensive player of the year.

Post play requires size and strength, which Paul completely lacks. Its like saying Shaq could have been the best 3PT shooter ever or MJ best rebounder if they wanted to.

He guards them like any other guy guards them, he gets up under them, and harasses them.

Since there are no PG's in the league that can post up like a center, I don't see your point.
