who would you rather play in the first round- gsw/den?

it has prolbably came up before lol
as a laker fan i choose golden state. I rather have gasol being defended by webber and lamar gaurding stephan jackson rather than carmelo.

As a Laker fan this is a really hard choice.

Defense at point guard is our weak spot and we have to choose whether to face Baron Davis and Monta Ellis or Allen Iverson who dropped 50 on us this season.

You probably have to go Golden State because our big man combo can punish them on the inside better. Whoever the Warrior's backup center is they'll be guarding 7' 1'' Andrew Bynum. And believe me in the playoffs it's size over speed.

Yeah that's it, size over speed. Keep thinking that. While you are at it figure out how to guard the lanes with someone like Al Harrington standing behind the arch.

Playing big can be just as much a liability as being too small.

Easily the Golden State Warriors.

Because yeah you know, they suck so bad and they are small. And yeah, they are a pushover and are not capable of doing damage. Basically not an obstacle of some sort. And yeah, even though they are 42-19 since the return of Stephen Jackson (That would be the 5th best record in the league, and Phil Jackson says that Elite teams win 40 games before 20 losses) they still suck and they are not a real basketball team. They lead the league in scoring, steals, forced turnovers, points off of turnovers and fastbreak points but they still suck their offense is nothing to worry about. They have the best record in the league in games decided by 3 points or less but they still suck. I agree with everyone when we think that Golden State sucks because they have teh small people that can't do anything. KG, Duncan, Dwight, etc. Warriors beat those teams but they still suck.

Don't bother picking the Nuggets. Use this thread to take cheap shots at how small the Warriors are and how they won't be able to do anything in the playoffs. They suck in the playoffs. They barely beat the Mavericks. And even though they got outrebounded by an incredible amount of boards by the Jazz, the Warriors still only lost by about 5 points a game. How can a team outrebound the Warriors so much but still barely beat them? If Mickael Pietrus hit that last free throw in Game 2, the Warriors would have tied the series 1-1 with a lot of momentum going into Oakland for Games 3 and 4. Warriors still suck though.

The Rockets have a much easier chance of beating the Nuggets than they do against the Warriors. We simply matchup against the Nuggz better and while they're an uptempo team we can play up to their speed. The Warriors on the other hand are lethal beyond the 3 point line, and have great guards that can slash through the basket. But moreover, these guys simply do not fold under any circumstances which make a nightmare to go against.

In the end, I believe the Warriors will maintain their 8th seed and give a hell of a competition against any team that they'll face.

Lot of ifs and buts in there Hyphy, you admitted before that you know they have troubles rebounding, and teams with a dominant rebounder are going stay in games with them, even if the W's are hot.

(the record without Stephen Jackson comment is a dead give away btw)

As a Lakers fan I'd rather play Denver.

Golden State scares me after what they did last season. While I think we would beat them and they definitely have no answer for Pau and Andrew downlow, they're just too good offensively to write off. Monta and Baron are too much for Fisher and Farmar.

On the other hand, we swept Denver this season, blowing them out without Andrew or Pau. They have no shooters so we can pack the lanes. AI would likely go off but we can contain Melo and force AI to carry the team himself.

Overall, I think we would sweep Denver and Golden State would take an extra game or 2.

tough minded teams, teams that are great at rebounding, teams that fit that utah mentally would love the warriors.

teams that are a bit soft and easy to push around, and aren't physical like last years mavs or a young team like the hornets would probably dread the warriors.

who ever gets the number 1 seed is in for a long series. and it won't be an upset if the number 1 seed loses in the first round in the west this year.

A rebounding team would choose the Dubs, but a team with a weak backcourt D would choose the Nugs.
