I know Dennis Rodman was the first one to get his whole body inked.

After him, AI continued the trend. Now young stars like Carmelo and Lebron are getting inked.

I got 2 questions

1. Who was the very first NBA player to get a tattoo? (ever)

2. Who do you think started the trend?

George Mikan had a tattoo of Vern Mikkelsen's face on his left a$$ cheek.

Got no link for it though, just heard some seniors at my local Canasta club talking about it.

Someone else around here had one as well with a link to the site they got them from, I don't know what it is but I'll try to find it for you.
