Top 8 teams in the West, who is the most improved?

Post#1 » by Alex_De_Large » Wed Mar 26, 2008 5:44 pm

From 2006-07 season to this one? considering team level and record in regular season.
For me are the Hornets. Warriors this year are better than last year as a team, but last year could have won more if baron and jrich could stay healthy, Hornets also had Paul out for about 20 games, but they were not in the playoffs after all.

1-Hornets 2007/08 > Hornets 2006/07
2-Warriors
3-Lakers (Gasol+Bynum, still have not played together, if both work together they would probably be in the top2 but...)
4-Rockets

5/6-Suns and Jazz (improved a bit, Suns worst in regular season but will probably be better in playoffs with Shaq)
7/8-Spurs and Mavs (the same)

How are the Warriors over the Lakers? The Lakers had the same record as Golden State last season, and were 2 games from missing the playoffs. LA has to be second on that list.

How can it not be the Lakers?

Traded Kwame for Pau.
Andrew has emerged as a top 15 center in the league.
Lamar is playing more aggressively.
Evans was upgraded to Ariza and all it cost was Brian Cook.
Smush was replaced with Fisher.
Farmar has emerged as a great finisher off the bench.
Sasha and Vlad's shots are falling.
Turiaf has improved every facet of his game.
Kobe's taking on more of a facilitator role and only taking over offensively when we need it. Not to mention he's playing All-NBA Defense.

Only player who's done worse is Luke and that's because he's injured and there are other players now who have taken his role.

i thought last year lakers had a better record, yes they were 7th only, so it's hornets and lakers top2. warriors 3th, yes, i agree.

The Lakers improved through trades while the Hornets improved internally. Personally, internal improvement is more impressive to me.

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.
