I hope this is a joke. You hire Marc to become an uptempo team and trade away your best player to begin rebuilding that uptempo team and now you want to bring in Larry "Running and Shooting should be illegal in basketball" Brown? We all saw what happened last time he was stuck on a rebuilding team. (If You can call them that)

And Larry was always a running coach; he just emphasized the defensive end of the game more because that's where his players needed it.

And yeah, just see how much better the Knicks have done since Larry left, guess it was all his fault. (not that he wasn't an idiot there; especially with calling his players out in the media)

Don't underestimate Larry. I love him as a coach and hope he comes back. He's good with point guards and would turn Conley or Crittenton into all stars. He'd actually have a pretty good defensive team because that's what he practices and stresses most. Kwame with his strong man defense and Darko with his blocking is reminscent of the frontcourt Brown had in Detroit.

Kwame is a free agent at the end of the season and i dont see him staying in memphis

Larry Brown is one of the best NBA coaches ever.

He has his issues, though...almost pathological happy feet and an active ego. That said, he's maybe the best pure coach I've seen in the league.

The issue in NYC was a few issues, to me. For one, he and Zeke had incompatible egos. For another, he is a 'break em down and build em back up the right way' guy, and every time he would be in mid-process, Isiah and/or his issues with Isiah would get in the way, and the result would be a shambles.

But obviously it's not him that was holding the Knicks back.

All that said, I don't know if LB mixes all that well with the guys the Grizzlies have now. Some of them, sure...and he loves guys who play like Gay...but the point guard situation has always been his personal hobgoblin, wherever he's been, he's had issues with the 1, and given the talented but as yet undefined point guard situation in Memphis, it could be a boom or bust situation.

I get the point you're trying to show but it can be only a very light version of the detroit defensive frontcourt at best...
