Post#1 » by thaAteam » Fri Mar 28, 2008 3:18 pm

Image going to 24 hour fitness to play ball with your boys and greg oden got next, id love footage of that did he score 40 points 40 rebounds and block 100 shots, if you wanna play ball why go to 24 hour fitness, why not scrimmage with your team?

Greg Oden has got to be the dumbest NBA "superstar" that has never set a foot in a real game!

It was a dumb mistake, but it is the best kind of dumb mistake. He wants to play so bad. I like that kid.

It was unprofessional, but I simply cannot hate him for doing it. Way better than Vlad Rad's snowboarding fiasco!

He sat out this whole season after his 1st mistake. This was not his 1st.

He's just 20 years old, still a kid. I'll give him a pass on this one. Can't fault him too much for wanting to play. Just set him straight and move on.

Getting injured was his first mistake? that's pretty harsh.

You'd think a 40 year old man would know better.

I played a few pick-up games with Braylon Edwards just before he got drafted by the Browns, and the whole time I was thinking to myself "what an idiot, how stupid would it be to blow out your knee just before the NFL draft playing pick-up games with scrubs like me."

Thanks. I try my best but Netsforce is/was a great poster...I'll never be able to match his level of wit.

Dumb move for sure, but it's not like he was there to play basketball. He went by himself and met some people there he knew. They prodded him into playing a game. The guy that reported, and played with him, said he went at about 1/2 speed at best. Never really putting himself in any real awkward possitions. He has probably gone harder in practice against Maurice Lucas.

Go easy on the kid. He just wants to play and make people happy.

OMG I can't believe he would do that. He is just a horrible person. Portland doesn't want trouble makers like him, Stern should help Portland trade his insubordinating ass to the Knicks. I think Mardy Collins, Balkman, and Robinson would be fair.

Apperently he was the best student in his entire school (straight As, etc). So maybe not street smart per se, but hardly an idiot.

If I were a Blazers fan, I think I'd be happy to hear he's keen to get back on the court. I really don't think he'd be so stupid as to actually push himself. In light of the fact that he's in the NBA, maybe a little naive, but very forgivable.

Greg Oden doesnt know discretion

Oh well.. Hes 20 years old. He just wants to enjoy his youth. Stupid risk, but he'll be fine. He went at half speed. He works way harder when hes practicing 1 on 1 at the Blazers facility

I would be upset at him if I were the Blazers, but I understand he wants to play and he felt like he could.

He's young, probably doesn't realize how much the Blazers have invested in him for next season.

As long as he didn't set back his rehab and learns from his mistake it's not a huge deal. But definitely something to keep an eye on.

At least he wasn't caught jumping on a trampoline or something.

I know that feeling, any of you who love to play, and have played a lot... imagine that itch that you will get if you haven't played in a while.

Probably not the best thing he could have done, but I can't say I wouldn't have done the same.
