I don't know if this has been posted before (since it IS really old news...) so feel free to delete it if you need Mods.. but here

This was 4 years ago btw...

Quote:
After one season with New York in 2003-04, Mutombo was told by then-general manager and now head coach of the Knicks Isiah Thomas that the day had come, and that blunt message has driven him for the past four years.

"It's still a wound," Mutombo said. "My wife and I still talk about it. It's still a bit sad to see the commissioner coming and all those people coming to celebrate the 17 years of my career and accomplishments and you look back and say that about (four) years ago, I had a guy tell me that I couldn't play basketball no more, to go to the beach and onto vacation. That's the same guy who's losing his job tomorrow."

Yeah, this is old. Who cares what Isiah thinks? Doesn't the Knicks "success" just show how good a basketball coach he really is?

Yeah, but I just think it's hilarious how Deke goes "that's the same guy who's losing his job tomorrow".. or whatever. That stings.

I take it you're a Knicks fan? If so, you should pray for the day that Isiah gets fired.

I don't think Isiah's parents even take him seriously.

Isiah to Mutombo: If you can keep playing, then I'm going to continue collecting $5M a year for 25 win seasons.

Mutombo is actually helping out his team though.. He's contributing. Not destroying it piece by piece.. Like someone...

 So true. The sad part is that they had an amazing coach who could have taken them back to the Playoffs in Larry Brown, but they fired the wrong person. If they had fired Isiah and found a competent GM to build a Larry Brown type team, the Knicks would be so much better off right now.

As much as I feel bad for the city of New York, as an outsider I would actually be upset the day Isiah gets fired because of he constantly provides us with invaluable comedy. (Not the sexual assaults, tho)

Even Knicks fan have to admit, they'd love him for everything he does if he was destroying another team.

But I guess it wouldn't really work, if it wasn't in New York. For example, say New York had Gasol. Can you imagine the scrutiny if Isiah pulled off the Gasol/Kwame "trade"?

So, go Isiah!!

(I do feel bad about enjoying what Knicks fans have to endure)
