I'd say Dirk is the most unlikeable superstar ever.

What? Dirk is as likable as Steve Nash. And I assume you love Steve Nash.

BringthePain, you need to bring it harder.

I've got nothing against Dirk so I'm not going to talk about him other than to say that I agree in this case. I've thought Kobe was the best player in the league for the last couple of years, but I would never consider him the MVP until he really took the Lakers somewhere. With the position he has them in at the moment, especially with Bynum and Gasol injured, I think he's stepped his game up and really lifted the team.

I like Dirk. I just think he's too much of a pussy though. He like lays down and spreads his cheeks when it gets tough.

But Germany (and Europe) don't idolize Dirk, they idolize soccer players. Whereas Canada truly idolize Nash like a God. And there are a lot of popular European basketball players that steal Dirk's thunder, whereas Nash dominates Canadian basketball. And Nash isn't my favorite player, but I've found he's really popular among ESPN posters and the girls especially.

 seems like u have absolutely no clue what dirk's standing is in germany... though we are a soccer nation with basketball coming probably 4th after soccer, formula 1, handball and maybe hockey, dirk is mentioned as sports player of the year every year, won it twice i think and is the only reason the german national team won team of the year few years back.
he's shown on at least the same amount of ads on tv than any soccer player.

and back to topic: dirk is right. some homers here just seem like they need to hate dirk for whatever he says which to me shows the respect dirk gets or better the fear the opponents have though.
