Marcus Williams was once projected to go as early as #10 in the 2006 draft. He now has trouble finding minutes behind Devin Harris in New Jersey.

Will this guy ever get it together and live up to the hype he had a few years back?

I think he could become the kind of player we thought he would be once he signs with another team (with a coach who'll let him play through his mistakes) after next season.

devin harris is freaking good...theres no suprise there.

Well playing behind Kidd hasn't given him a lot of minutes in his rookie year . This year he's been out with a broken foot at the beginning and looked horrible when he came back.

Then Kidd was traded for Harris and Devin Harris played very good and got of course the nod .

But still since the trade he's been playing around 20 MPG thats good minutes .
It's not like he's sitting on the bench with no hope of getting any time. They're also sharing a lot of time together on the court since we don't have a backup SG .

I can't see many teams where would get much more minutes then NJ right now.

I wouldn't really say he's struggling to find minutes... For the most part I think he's progressing along nicely, but a combination of bad luck and poor physical fitness has held him back.

He's money from 3 and has sickening handles and court vision but he doesn't really blow by players left and right. I think part of that has to do with the fact that he's not that quick to begin with and as I alluded to before the other part of that has been injuries that have caused him to not be in prime playing condition.

He's a good player, Harris is just better in the same way that Kidd was better. When Harris was out with the ankle injury, he actually played very well and the Nets got a bit of a winning streak going.

poor physical fitness has held him back.

I think that is all that needs to be said... I wouldn't be far off in saying that Jacque Vaughn even today, is a better physical specimen compared to Marcus Williams. He has talent but his conditioning doesn't allow him to be more than just decent.

He is so talented, but has no athleticism. He will be a top assist man within the next few years though. His court vision is top notch.

I never thought the guy was that impressive. He just seems like one of the many players in Jersey that blend into the background.

Do you guys still have Hassan Adams? That was one player that impressed my a lot last season.

When he slipped in the draft I was hoping the Lakers would draft him. I was thinking just slip a couple more spots but New Jersey got him. Now were stuck with Jordan Famar...

Hassan Adams was waived because of salary cap reasons at the start of the year.

He was a tweener anyway though... He didn't have the ball handling or shooting ability to play shooting guard (well to be honest he had no ball handling or shooting ability) and he wasn't big or strong enough to play small forward.

Damn could he throw dunks down though, Hassan had hops.

Marcus has some nice handle, a halfway decent J, and can pass when he tries to make others around him better.

But his basketball IQ is questionable at times, he's allergic to playing defense, and he's a fat boy

The fact that he got drafted outside of the top 20, showed that he should have never been hyped.

When you say things like "he can become the player we thought he could be", its clear its your issue and not a Marcus issue.

People had unrealistic expectations... and NBA scouts figured it out the many faults in his game.
