No that's not Lebron James' stat line. Those are Vince Carter's stats over the past 10 games. He's been the best wing in the league statistically for a little under a month.

Do you consider him an elite player still? Why or why not?

Personally I think he's been the most under the radar player this year. He started the season off slowly thanks to injury (and recently was shut down by Nets management thanks to that same injury), but he slowly and surely recovered his form as the season progressed.

It seems like people discount him or think he's done because he doesn't have a top 10 dunk on a nightly basis anymore.

I think he is just another injured player now.

he has been very good this season. He is not the problem, the problem is the fact that Richard Jefferson refuses to rebound even with his long and large frame, and is only concerned about padding his scoring stats.

As a knick fan I watch them sometimes, and Carter just gets people open looks and IMO has had a better shot selection this year. Jefferson just honestly needs to be traded before he starts thinking he is worth max money. He is the Eddy Curry of SFs, since Jefferson only cares about scoring and refuses to rebound.

He is the biggest loser in the NBA. What he did to the raptors franchise...

The most underrated player in the league. The guy's so physically talented, he can play at 80% and he's still a top-5 SG. He's a Michael Jordan-level talent with roughly 10% of the desire that Jordan had. He had it early in his career when he was the hottest thing going, but he lost it somewhere along the way. Probably the money.

Well he's like that CD you fail to keep away from your car, soon enough the hype goes down. He was so incredibly overrated in his first few years, and now he doesn't even he doesn't get half the respect he deserves. Well it's hard to get also if you don't win games, and I'm sure if he would have had a 22 game win streak they'd be going nuts over him.

Vince Carter will always be a loser in my eyes. Anyone who admittedly dogs it is a loser.

VC has been great post-Kidd trade.

It's not only the LeBron type numbers he's throwing up now but even when he went a week or so really struggling with his offense he was finding other ways to be a positive impact for his team. Putting great effort on defense, grabbing tough rebounds, making plays for teammates, diving on the floor (heck recently he dove for a ball going out of bounds with Shaq running it down too). He's been a good leader in the locker room & on the court (which I thought was a weakness of his while JKidd was still a Nets player and his whole career actually).

This year everyone was throwing him under the bus but he didn't say peep about it and just kept playing and his #'s are pretty much what they are for his career (2nd best FT% of his career, best rebounding avg of his career, best assist per game average of his career) and he has the best roland rating on his team and most impact (+/-) of any Nets player w/ regular minutes on the team.

but the hate will be around for the rest of his career and it's something I think he's dealt with fairly well (he might me a mommas boy but he's got tough skin).

Magic Johnson as a commentator is a chump. Walt Frazier even commented that recently that he doesn't believe VC is finished & still has some years of very productive ball.

VC haters say that it shows VC admitted to purposely tanking in his last season with the Raptors but clearly VC was saying when he was young (and the darling of the league) he didn't work on his game because he relied on his natural talent.

and even as a VC fan I'll have to say he wasn't a hard worker in the offseason BUT you don't come into the league as just a "athlete with no jumpshot" and suddenly become a decent jumpshooter & 3pt shooter just playing playstation all summer long. He does study the game (heck he even studied dunk tapes growing up) and despite relying on his athleticism he is oddly enough a X's and O's guy (on one Raptors broadcast he was breaking down plays while a guest announcer) and I've never heard a Coach ever complain about him (not hardass Kevin O'Neil not even Smitch who said VC did everything that was asked of him).

With Carter the Nets are not a good team right now , without Carter they're a very bad team .

With Carter there's a least a good possibility to win or stay very competetive but without him we struggle to score 90 points and get killed by almost everyone .

i didnt know even non raptors fans dislike him

Wow Vince has really played well. The guy is a stud.

Well this season Carter's assists, rebounds, fg% and ft% are all above his career numbers. This is despite him being demoted to the 2nd option. And he's played 70 games.

If he had enough heart to drive to the lane every game that'd be his season average instead of a ten game average. Glad to see he can still get hot shooting 3s though.
