Stephon Marbury's crazy quotes over the years

Post#1 » by Martin » Sat Apr 5, 2008 11:07 am

Well, people thought he was on drugs or something but here's probably the real reason...he's crazy:
During his teenage years, he spent some time in a mental ward

I remember reading somewhere that his mom used to spank him because he kept saying "I'll be the best point guard in the NBA one day"

The best part are the guys in his entourage shouting things after everything he says.

Jeez, everyone seems to forget how good Starbury once was. He was easily a top five point guard at one point and now everyone dogs him.

It's NOT Starbury it is Isiah the career killer.

No matter how good he was he's allways been a moron .

I mean he had 3 statistically great years with the Nets but the Nets sucked these 3 years , he even had a 50 10 game ( which the Nets lost btw ) . Then they traded him for Kidd and the Nets went with almost the same roster to the finals twice .

You do know that Wikipedia can be edited by anyone who is able to write words? I doubt that's true unless there is a credible link, but whatever, he is weird.

Biggest thing that helped the Nets after the trade was the fact that they were healthy the year that Kidd went to NJ. When Marbury was in NJ Williams, Martin, Kittles and Van Horn were injured most of the time. Even he was injured. Kidds first season there the team actually stayed healthy.

Idk.

It seems Marbury jockers will always find an excuse at each of his stops.

Let's face it, Marbury is better than Bibby (who is a terrible PG btw), but not a Nash or Kidd.

He's a guy that can get you to the playoffs (Phx, Ny, Minn), but who will never really do more than that b/c of the nature of his play, and the manner in which he alienates teammates.

Great talent, chasing the money f*cked up his career though.
If lee is worth #12 then Ron is EASILY worth #5. Sooo...how about:
Malik Rose/#5 for Ron Artest.

I'll agree he's not better then Nash, Kidd, Paul or Williams. It's like going to NY he played great at first, he tried to alter his game the way Larry Brown wanted him too and his game ended up getting hurt for it. Now it's to the point that his skill seems like it declined quickly.

Intresting thing is that during his press confrence Walsh said that he want's to talk to Marbury and find out what happened. Walsh called Marbury a big time player and doesn't see how his game declined so fast.

Dont think that matters though because I think Marbs is out of NY next season. Unless Walsh holds on to him for his contract to expire.
