After last nights thriller, Kevin Durant is now averaging 20.0 PPG while shooting a very reasonable .425. A season-high 35 points help propel rookie Jeff Green over the 10 PPG barrier in only 27 minutes a night. The future is looking very bright in Sonic land.

I love watching Durant play.

He is going to be a superstar.

He still needs to get stronger, I think they should play him full time at SF next season and continue to surround him with more talent.

Once those things happen, he is going to reach the next level.

Was their 72 points last night the most points scored in a game by a rookie duo ever?

I really like the future of the Sonics (or whatever this team is called if/when they relocate). For as much flack as Durant gets, he has been the best rookie this year, especially with the added pressure of being a #1 scorer, #1 talent and franchise player, all from day one. When he adds some muscle mass and weight, he's going to be an absolute force.

And Green looks to be the Pippen to Durant's Jordan (obviously, a DRAMATIC exaggeration, but you get the point). He is a guy that can do pretty much everything on the court - score, rebound, pass, defend, etc.

With competent management, they can really build an exciting, winning product.

That game last night was just awesome.

They both have A LOT of work to do. Let's not hype up one game against the no-defense Nuggets.

Durant is going to be a heck of a player... Green will also be a pretty good one, if they continue to develop him.


But Durant needs to add weight.... seriously. He will obviously need to be able to post and thats the difference. He likes Melo a lot, so he needs to watch him bang down there, fight off bigger players, at his size he wouldnt be able to do it.

Durant can also become a much better defender than Melo... just need size to balance himself from others when defending.

I don't know if I like the Melo comparison. A more mobile Antwan Jamison maybe... Jamison uses a number of creative moves around the basket to score, Durant showed some creativity in his game in college so I think Jamison is a player Durant should model his game after, either that or Rashard Lewis (though Lewis doesn't really play in the post).

Part of what makes Melo so effective is his deadly first-step, Durant can't duplicate that no matter how hard he tries.

Durant is indeed a very unique player in terms of comparing him to a current NBA player; to me, he reminds me a bit of Tracy McGrady.

The one thing that has impressed me about Durant lately is his FG%; a lot of critics were coming after him hard about his low FG% but Durant has really improved in that area recently.

His shot-selection will continue to improve in time, hopefully.

He's already one of my favorite players in the NBA to watch.

To me, there's no question he should be the ROY.

Durant has improved his FG % drastically over the past two months. I don't think his body of work equals Horford's, but he has really shown what kind of player he will be in the future.

The Bench? KD is going to be (Please Use More Appropriate Word) good and forcing him out of position every year is going to stunt is growth.

Kevin Durant and Jeff Green are going to be great duo. Since the draft, I've been saying that the NW division is going to be the future of the NBA (assuming they don't leave). With Utah and Denver clicking already, you've still a mass of young talent in Seattle, Minnesota, and Portland. If they can keep those teams together, in about 4 or so years, they'll all be dangerous.

And what if that 1st pick falls to Seattle (which is quite realistic)? Beasley, Durant and Green......wow

Yeah, If I were seattle, I would go small next year.

They are trying so hard to make a big man out of Petro, Sene, Swift.. But they should just admit that the NBA doesn't have 30 starter quality 7footers, and they are one of the teams that don't have one.

They should start with Wilcox, Green and Durant in the frontcourt, and use Collison as a 30 minute backup at 4 and 5. Add a shooter to start at the 2 from this years draft (maybe Mayo), and I think they are set to run and gun, because they have 2 nice young pointguards already

I still think they are going to have to trade one of them. Green is definitly better playing small forward and so will Durant. Yeah you can run small ball with them, but overall, they would be better off trading Green I think. If they get Rose in the draft this year, Rose, Durant and whatever young big man they could get for Green will dominate the league for years.

Ya. They also get a high pick this year. They would be sick in the future if they get Rose.
