Zo and Deke anchor the paint... unlike Bowen he can only be effective outside the paint.
He can still have a great impact on the game, making it hard for his man to get the ball, get into position, etc.

But yea, valid point.

I also say three point shooters... You put a guy like Brent Barry out on the floor and your team just spaces the floor much better for other players. I think that is our biggest problem recently our spacing.

Brendon Haywood.... he doesn't really score anyway, but is just a great big man. I'm glad he finally is starting to live up to the potential i saw in him at UNC.

It's primarily defensive type players (like Duncan, KG or Camby) or play-makers (like Paul, Nash, Deron, Kidd).

Exactly. Hustle players also help their team without scoring.

lol.. I am amazed no one is speaking about Andrei Kirilenko. He is Hakeem Olujawon without the scoring.

Or the rebounding, stealing, commanding of the paint, need to double/triple team him, etc. Andrei Kirilenko is not Hakeem Olajuwon.

On the Pacers a perfect example is Jeff Foster. He is a superior rebounder and terrific defender and he doesn't need to have the ball to have a big impact on the game.

Anyone who can consistently draw defenses toward them and create open space for the other teammates to produce.

Players Like:

1) Shaq - Doubles, triples means teams are trying to neutralize him. He is productive by kicking it out to GOOD shooters.

2) Wade, Lebron -- these two guys attack the rim relentlessly, they score, so defenses are sucked in towards the paint. Whenver there is a cluster, they usually do a fine job of locating the shooter for the easy 3.

If theyre having an off-night in terms of shooting/scoring, teams respect them enough to honor the attack orientated games, for which all they have to do is let the other teammates do the scoring.
