Just want to know what are you guys take on Bruce Bowen's elbow to Amare in the 4th qtr? Do you think he should get suspended? In my opinion. It was another dirty play by Bruce, and he should get suspended 2 gms.

He shouldn't get suspended. The foul wasn't even intentional. He wasn't looking at Amare when it happened. I don't even think he knew that Amare was setting the pick.

at least with the chris paul stuff, there was something there. if you are going to cry out about this, whats the point? might as well just suspend players every time they set a pick or fight through a screen. when did the nba get overrun by this "nancy-boy" mentality?

That doesn't even crack Bowen's top 10 dirty plays of the season.

the reason people call for suspensions when a dirty thug like bowen strikes is that its not ok to retaliate. if amare had just thrown an elbow upside bowen's big head on the next possession, all would have been fine. problem is, he does that and he's out for 10 games while bowen goes on like nothing happened.
and make no mistake, bowen's hope is that someone does pop up and gets suspended, its the reason the spurs are dirty, the games they play when they cant beat an opponent straight up.

Yeah, cause the Spurs never win on pure talent alone. There's always some kind of thuggery involved...

i've said over and over again, the spurs dont have to apologize for anything they've accomplished, they take advantage of the NBA's rules and deserve credit for doing so. Horry's move last year against Nash is the prime example. The check was intended to create a stir and it did just that. No team wins one title let alone 4 without great talent. You'll never hear me say the Spurs arent great, but you will hear me say they are dirty.

it's only a big deal because it's Bowen..
when Steve Nash intentionally tripped Felton, it wasn't a big deal..it's all about bias..the Spurs have been the best since Shaq-Kobe stopped being dominant, so if one of their players does something, it's exaggerated..

there's truth in what you say, but bowen really is dirty and deserves to be punched right square in the face. his tactics put other players and their teams at risk which is unacceptable.
i despise violence but i really would love to see bowen punched in the face because he deserves it.

Horry's move was a dirty one, no doubt about it. I don't condone it at all, and I don't see the sense in him doing it.
You think they're dirty - fine. It's your opinion, and I respect your right to voice it.
I just don't agree.

There is no doubt in my mind Bowen will be the cause of the ugliest brawl in NBA history before he retires. One of these days Bowen will goon up the wrong guy at the wrong time and he'll get what's coming.
Honestly every great defender must stretch the rules as much as possible to dominate defensively. You don't think MJ was dirty when he locked someone down? Stockton? Yet all those guys knew where to draw the line and knew how much they can get away with. With Bowen however, it's all about the end justifies the means. Regardless of potential injury or what not.
What makes me laugh are the people who still contend that Bowen is NOT a dirty player...

I seriously think it was from Popovich. I mean think about it. Game was over by that point, they had nothing to lose so Pop instructs one of the older vets to take it for the team and create some **** by playing rough. their hope was for a multiple suspensions to happen the fact they got Amare + Diaw was pure gravy.

Ok, pretend it wasn't bowen for a second. Now look at the play, and 99/100 times no one wouldn't even look twice at it as a dirty play.
and if you have a look at the bowen/paul replay you will see it was in fact chris paul playing dirty.

I think Bowen gave Amare a shot and it was a 'dirty' play, however I don't see anything wrong with that type of play. Sticking your foot under a shooter is wrong because you could sprain an ankle but delivering some punishment to a guy setting a screen is just basketball. Like Hubie said, Amare should have had his forearm up and been ready for some contact. It's a sport, not scrabble.

if thats not enough evidence nothing will be. bowen needs to be completelely clocked right square in the face and knocked out cold. he is an awful excuse for an nba player, a blight on this league.

The difference is how many times bowen's been involved in this crap, defend him all you want he's on your team, that's fine. But the proof is in the puddin my freind, every five games or so there's another youtube video showing the crap bowen's doing to player's, go do a search on youtube, you could spend a solid day watching his crap, your excuse would work if it was once or twice a year, but once or twice every other game and I'm not buyin it, but thats just my opinion.
