Caron Butler. Look what he did with that injury-ravaged team.

It's hard to win MVP, no matter how could you are, if you miss 1/4 of the season.

Caron Butler, shocked that you left him off the list. Then KG.

Lebron is but no way he's recognized within the criteria that's been set. Kobe did for 2 years straight what Lebron is doing now of carrying an extraordinary load to help his team - but so much emphasis on record nullifies most of it.

lmfao @ that avatar zen.
I think Lebron deserves it, only Kobe could take his place and get around the same record they have right now.

Dwight has to be considered too IMO. The Magic are 1 win away from 50 games (probably will get it tonight over Minnesota), something we haven't done since the Shaq days. We also clinched the division for the first time in many years.
To us Magic fans, a season like this is a great one regardless of our success in the playoffs. Of course, it would be a positive to go deep in the playoffs to build upon for the future of our team.
It's a close race between Dwight and LeBron. I think what hurt KG's stock is the amount of games he missed.

psshhh KG's stock will still be through the roof to those who decide on this...KG wins it...

It MUST be KG. Dirk won it last year on account of his team having the best record. KG should win it this year on account of his team having the best record in that case too, especially considering he's a better player than Dirk.

KG is my favorite player, but when the Celtics went through that stretch of games without him and beat the Spurs and Mavs without him(Correct me if i'm wrong, they went around 6-2 without him), that just gave the edge to Lebron, because when he was out with his sore finger, the Cavs looked like the Miami Heat.

lol at caron butler.
his team is at .500. and he missed a lot of games.
paul pierce should be an option btw.
if kg is out because of missing only 9 games, so should caron. btw, Antwan jamison is the mvp of the wiz this year. he's been there all the there, is having a great year and a leader. he's been the best player on that team all year. and it doesn't hurt that this year is a contract year right?

Agreed on all accounts except the .500 thing. But yeah, Caron has played great, but if anyone on the Wiz deserves MVP consideration, it's certainly AJ.

lebron has missed close to the same amount of games as kg btw, so your reasoning doesn't fly. they are separated by 3 games. come on now.

the wizard aren't at or around .500. big woop. 2 games over .500 or at .500. still means you had an average year.
AJ doesn't get enough credit. he's proven to be a really good player and has put together a good year despite adversity - mainly his teammates being made of glass. he's stepped up his game on the offensive end. dare i say he's not that bad defensively.

LeBron missed less games. A few games less, but still. And I think Cleveland is more dependent on LeBron than Boston is on KG. Either way, I wouldn't rule out KG, it's a close race.

The fact that when KG was out, the Celtic's still had a winning record, and the fact that when the Lebron was out, the Cavs had a losing record, it shows who is more valuable to their team.
Of course the media will give to to KG over Lebron, due to the records, but I know KG(Wolves fan for a long time), and he wouldn't bring that Cavs roster to a record that Lebron has right now, he just isn't a better #1 option than LBJ.

it just shows that the cavs rosters sucks.
thats what it shows. you can't give the mvp to the best player on an average team. give me a break.
if thats the case, give it to lebron for the next ten years. with his teams management, he just might be on an average team for a long time.
we have to have standards. and putting up big numbers on a team 10 games over .500 isn't enough. your team has to be a great team for you got get an mvp.
when was the last time the mvp went to a player on a team with less than 50 wins? you'll probably have to go back a few decades.

I'm saying Lebron deserves it, but I doubt he'll win it, and with the history of MVP winners, it's most likely not going to happen. Kobe deserved it two years ago by getting his team into the playoffs, but it went to Nash.
I always like to do the "Switch teams, what happens" method, and I just can't see KG bringing a roster like that into the 4th-5th seed. 6th-7th sounds reasonable.(Don't know which seed, too lazy to look)
