Has a Basketball Game Every Made you Cry?

Post#1 » by Farsi Man » Sun Apr 13, 2008 9:43 pm

Hey this might be an off topic question but it's NBA related and relates to specific games plus it'll be taken more seriously here.

Have you ever cried due to a basketball game? I think I did for the first time ever today. The Lakers go on a huge run to blowout the spurs and the commentators are talking about Kobe's rough offseason and all that trauma and what all the Laker fans went though then on a big alley oop while Kobe is on the bench and the Lakers are just dominating the Spurs call a timeout and Kobe leaps off the bench with the biggest smile I've ever seen and is just praising all of his teammates. It definetely brought some moisture to my eyes just to see my team happy after all that trouble and my main guy with a huge smile.

What about you guys? Ever cried during a game? Eff the other sports the NBA is the most emotional sport

A cry of joy, or a cry of defeat?

No. I feel like crap after some games but never have I cried. I was pissed for a couple months after the Bears lost the superbowl but still didn't cry. Seems lame to cry over something like sports.

I could never say that about KG. Even though he is a great player. In some way even in his prime he is Joakim Noah with a jump shot and a little better post game. Outside of that they have the exact same skill set.

Stockton's last game was in Sacramento, and as he got called off the floor by Jerry Sloan and everyone in Arco Arena gave him a very long standing ovation.

That really got to me.

Same, I don't cry over sports. But I remember feeling pretty crappy for a while after the last World Cup.

I cried over an NCAA tournament game when I was like 10 and UCONN beat Clemson with like .8 seconds to go in the "Sweet 16" I believe it was and nearly cried when Kentucky beat Duke in the "Elite 8" in '98. :(

Vancouver Grizzlies last game at GM Place when after the game nobody left their seats and then everyone just started chanting "Let's go Grizzlies". Only time I've teared up over a sporting event.
