For the sake of it, I'd say Spurs STILL. I think the Spurs have the potential to beat the Suns because they know how to play them. The Suns have a legit shot though.

True, but does anyone ever feel safe betting against Pop/Timmy in the playoffs? They're freaking machines, and no matter how unassuming they may look in these past couple of games, they're going to turn it up a notch in the playoffs. The Tim Duncan Robot is programmed that way.

Last year the Spurs turned it around right after the all-star break. This year they didn't. It's not that easy to dramatically change over the course of a week.

But they are still the champs, so we have to wait and see...

the Spurs as of RIGHT NOW would lose in 5 against Phoenix..maybe a sweep..

the Spurs in top form can beat anybody..

it's gonna come down to a few things..

injuries- is Manu going to be healthy? is Barry going to return? is Horry going to return? Barry and Horry are critical parts of this team for the playoffs..Horry is the best big man defender on the outside, and everybody knows what he does in the playoffs..Barry is our best shooter..

Tim Duncan- this is the key..is Tim Duncan declining? or is he playing like 2006 again? there are many people in the Spurs organization and on the roster that are claiming that Duncan is just bored with the regular season and just doesn't care..I don't know what I believe..

Tim Duncan in 2006: 18 PPG on 48% shooting..his worst regular season ever..

Tim Duncan the same year in the playoffs: 25 PPG on 57% shooting..including averaging 33 and 11 vs. Dallas on 60%+ shooting, all on an injured foot..

My pick was one part Shaq, one part STAT, and two parts homer.

I think the Suns have a legitimate chance to beat the Spurs now, whereas the last three years I didn't think so (in the case of a series for 2006).

Manu will be back for G1 of the playoffs, just depends how much it takes to get into a rhythm.

Barry may play in one of the final two games. I'd guess he'll be back early in the 1st round at the latest.

Horry won't be back till R1 or R2 of the playoffs, I'd guess.

Not concerned with Tim Duncan playing up to his capabilities in the playoffs. Shaq will give him problems at times, though.

I'm just not sure, who would win the series because the new-look Suns aren't proven in the playoffs, and still aren't a consistent defensive team, despite improvement. The Spurs have certain variables with players, and aren't that proven vs. the Suns from the last two games. I do think SA will play noticably better in the playoffs, than from those two games and some other games lately.

But to side with a team, I would sway to the Spurs. Because of their defense and probably having enough offense. 6 game series.

Ultimately, I think it can really go to either team.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Suns would win the series, like I would have in the past.

I could just be going too much on the regular season, and then the Spurs turn out to have a noticable edge edge on them again with their balanced veteran play.

Just going to have to see how everything turns out.
