DENVER (MyFOXColorado.com) - Denver Nuggets all-star forward Carmelo Anthony faced reporters for the first time Tuesday since his arrest on a drunk driving charge.

I don't take any public apology sincerely. They're all rehearsed and rehearsed and rehearsed before they come out.

Carmelo needs to stop doing dumb sh*t. I'm tired of his half hearted apologies.

I'm sure it'll be just one more "thug" joke for people, but I did think it was cool that Iverson was up there with him on the podium. Nice show of support. Hopefully Melo can learn from A.I. and admit mistakes and grow up.

He did look a little teary eyed but maybe he should be. He's the face of the Nuggets and possibly the leader of Team USA.

He's one of the guys that fans love to hate, but I cheer for the guy. Tough to see him make dumb mistakes like this. There's no All-Star that does more for charity or donates more money than Carmelo. He's #2 in the league behind Mutombo I believe. He needs to let that be the main part of his image, not some immature stuff like this.

Same here, he's one of my favorite players for some weird reason. I really hope he turns it around, if he doesnt, it will be the mother of all immense-talent-gone-down-the-drain cases..yes even worse than Vick IMO

Oh, come on. He looks like he only smoked a blunt or two. There's no way he was incapable of driving.

On the other hand, I'm not sure whether its the crappy resolution, but his corn rows look like they need anti-aliased. Either that or he needs to hit the barber shop.

Let's not get carried away here. Yes a DUI is bad. But reality is that it's pretty common now a days. Unless if Melo gets kicked off the team for this, and loses all his endorsement deals, and a house, and is looking at serious jail time Then NO. There is no way that this incident is in the same ball park as Vick's "fall from grace." They aren't even on the same block.

i didnt make myself clear. I did not mean this situation on its own was worse than what Vick did. I meant to say if he doesnt clean up, continues doing stupid s*** and winds up in a similar situation like Mike did, it would be a sadder situation given the kind of talent he has

The television station reported that Anthony's fiancee was called, but she refused to pick him up, and a Denver police sergeant ended up driving Anthony to the hotel where he and his fiancee were staying.

Are you kidding me?
