Kevin Pittsnogle

Post#1 » by Benjamerica » Wed Apr 16, 2008 6:05 am

Would anyone, in the hypothetical scenario in which you held the power to, call Pittsnogle up from the D League?

I loved the guy's college play and thought he'd go late second round but was undrafted. He played for the Celtic's summer leage team but was cut and has floated around the D league now.

His numbers impress me though.

15.7ppg 1.8apg 6.2rpg .88FT% .39-3p% .44fg%

Seems like he could be a strong role player at least. 611 240 pounds and a decent\streaky shot could be useful. Especially in systems like that of Don Nelson's.

I'm not going to lie, part of why I like the guy and root for him is his . . . "white trash" appeal haha. He looks like a dude I'd see at the bar or something. Like the average joe, sorta haha. I do think he has talen though.

Anyway. He'd without a doubt be a cheap sign. . Anyone even mildly interested or think he could fill a role on their team's bench?

If Brian Cook can have a contract then I don't see why he couldn't. Their games are identical. I thought that his teammate Gansey out of West Virginia would get drafted over him, but I was wrong also.

I think his stats are mediocre, and I think that 44% is a pathetic percentage for a bigman in a watered down D league. He might fill a role but I don't see him being better than a player like Marc Blount anytime soon.

Cook at least can claim to have an elite or near elite catch and shoot ability. He's also got an super quick release and range to burn. He hustles on D even though he sucks at it.

Kevin didn't have any of the above the last time I saw him in college.

The thing is, there are probably a lot of guys who could be in the league who aren't. A lot of it is just falling into the right situation out of nowhere.

I mean, look at Jamario Moon, that guy is ultra talented, and now it looks like he could be playing anywhere. But it took forever to land in the right spot before he could really show who he is.

Same could go for a ton of guys.

For anyone that thinks Scoop Jackson is someone to be listened to regarding the NBA, bear in mind that Scoop wanted (his hometown team, no less) the Chicago Bulls to draft Pittsnogle with the 16th pick in the 2006 Draft.

Look at all the brilliant talents that came after (or with the 16th pick):

Then think about Thabo.

Yikes.

The guy is a moron.

He'd fit well on the Raptors.

He's terrible and can't play any defense. His whole game is based on the 3. He couldn't even make our squad last year.

Go check out his wedding photos for a laugh.

Not really sure why he impressed you in college....but if you're just looking at box scores to be impressed, maybe that's why. He's garbage.

Gansey had a terrible staph infection in his knee that he was still healing from over this past summer. He might still end up in the league.

I'm kind of suprised that the Wolves didn't sign a big man when they waived Ratliff, any big man.

If the Heat stay in rebuild mode this upcoming season, I could see them bring him in.

Kevin needs to go to a team where he can be something of a "Matt Bonner" type.
