Can The Hawks Give The Celtics Some Competition?

Post#1 » by Scalabrine » Wed Apr 16, 2008 11:35 pm

Now before I have Celtics lovers all over me saying there is no way hear me out...

Can the Hawks give the Celtics a few good games and perhaps win a few games? The Hawks are a young athletic team that can compete with pretty much any team in the league (including bad ones) and they do match up nicely with the Celtics.

Horford on Perkins and helping Smith when he gets posted up by KG.
The long defensive Josh Smith on KG
The big and strong bodies of Joe Johnson and Marvin on Pierce
Bibby, Marvin, Law, Childress chasing around Allen on the perimiter.

I dont know I feel like they matchup pretty well and could make the series competitive. Do any of you think this will not be a sweep? Does anyone think the Hawks could actually win or take it to 6 or 7?

I can see the Hawks winning one game and putting a putting up a fight in one more. Not much more than that. The Hawks really do look good on paper, but the Celtics are just much better.

There's already a thread dedicated to this series, and this board is about to get pretty cluttered as it is. If you want to try to PM me a convincing reason to re-open this thread, go ahead. But for now, I'm going to lock it.
