Here's the result of a project I ran where I picked out 50 posters from the forums and had them vote on all awards.
RealGM forum accurately predicts awards again?

We should mention at this time RIP for Jules as he was a big contributor to the previous 5 parts. Im not sure what happened to him but it is a big loss for the Kobe huggers. He increased the amount of posts by an easy 15%
Thx Jules

I agree about him. As much of a homer that he was, He still held his own against a legion of CP homers.

Seriously tho what happened to him?
Did he lose a power struggle against a NO homer mod?
Is he on a serious bender and still sleeping?
I cant believe a guy would post so much then just drop off the this forum.

Random comment from the previous one:
I was the only person here calling out the Cavs for their stupid offense too. Everybody said I was just a hater but go over to their forum now and you see them saying the exact same things I was saying then. Portland fans go on me about saying Blake and Jones performances weren't sustainable and now that their streak has ended they see that I was right. So no it doesn't show me anything except you guys are caught up in the media hype so much that you think Chris Paul is making Peja.
He's not making Peja now anymore than Mike Bibby made him in 2003. He's the same dude playing a completely different role
Man, I've thought their offense was garbage since Mike Brown became the coach of that team lol
I agree about him. As much of a homer that he was, He still held his own against a legion of CP homers.
There was like 3 or 4 maybe

End regular season
1. Kobe Bryant
2. Chris Paul
3. LeBron James
4. Dwight Howard
5. Kevin Garnett
6. Steve Nash
7. Tim Duncan
8. Paul Pierce
9. Chauncey Billups
10. Dirk Nowitzki
Thoughts:
Although it was a close race, I have no hesitation in choosing Kobe at #1, which actually makes it less close that some other recent races ('04-05 & '05-06). I had Paul at #1 in my last list a week and a half ago and planned to keep him there as long as NO finished first. However it didn't even come down to that. I had Paul at the top because he had been so brilliant in the second half of the year I couldn't deny him if his team ended up at the zenith. However that superior performance fell off quite a bit to end the season when his team desperately needed him to be in the zone.
Given that, I have to consider Paul's great run as just that, not his "true level of performance". And over the course of the year, Paul's average performance doesn't impress me as much as Kobe's. Kobe just had to deal with more bad things being thrown his way.

I haven't posted in this thread before, so I'm going to get my money's worth rambling about things of which everyone is already aware.
Kobe deserves to win an MVP, and should have won one two seasons ago. However, I've always disliked that the results of past votes are taken into account...and focusing on this season alone, I just can't look past the numbers that Chris Paul has posted.
Kobe's 28/6/5 and terrific defense makes for an excellent season, MVP calibre most years. But Paul's season has been one for the ages: no player in league history has put up 20/10 with less than 3 turnovers a contest...to be in possession of the ball that much and to generate that much of the team's offense while being so precise is mind-boggling. Throw in the fact that he was comfortably above that threshold in all three categories, led the league in steals, and carried his team to 56 wins (I can't penalize him for the one game difference between the Hornets and Lakers), and Paul gets my vote...though I won't be disappointed when the real voters choose Kobe.
What's even more amazing is that LeBron is barely in the picture, despite putting up points/rebounds/assists totals matched only by Jordan and Oscar Robertson. While it's hard to penalize a guy for playing with little by way of help, the statistical gap between he and Kobe is small enough that record (and strength of schedule) wins out. Overall votes:

ill go with Kobe as my MVP...i had Lebron for the 1st half, and Paul most of the rest of the season....but Kobe was just slightly behind, and the way he ended the season and his team being in 1st in one of the toughest Western Conference races, i have to give it to him on what should be his 2nd MVP.
MVP.
1. Kobe Bryant
2. Chris Paul
3. Lebron James
